| Briskodian | Having some issues!!!! help!!! Hiya Everyone, I have been having some issues for a while, it all started when i sold my old car http://briskoda.net/briskoda-members...gotten/122612/ and i brought the Fabia vRS!! I promised myself i wouldnt go crazy with the modding side of it as been there done that, i just wants to have a car drive it and keep it clean, After cleaning it i have notice lots of stone chips on the font and a couple of paint chips on the doors etc etc, Here comes the main problem, on my old car i had it fully resprayed so it was perfect no scrathes or stone chips, But since cleaning the car when i first got it and spending hours cleaning the fab on sunday i cant help but look at it and notice the imperfections, every keeps saying its a 4 year old car etc etc etc but i just feel so detached from it cant bond with it the same way as i did my other one, i'm considering selling!!! my bonus is coming up at work and if i dont sort my head out i know i will end up having every pannel sprayed etc etc i'm beging to wonder if this is some form of OCD, people say they cant see the marks, or chips but i know they are there, it keeps me awake at night and i find myself stressing about it, some people may laugh but it really is not funny for me!!! what can i do |

| Re: Having some issues!!!! help!!! snap out of it.... it's a machine... i wouldn't bother getting it sprayed because they next time you go down the motorway and a stone flips up out of the tyre and hits the bonnet, you'll need to get it sprayed again |

| Briskodian | Re: Having some issues!!!! help!!! If I may - my story: I had the ceiling replastered to get rid of nasty Artex and the plasterer forgot (and I forgot to tell him) that he'd missed the ceiling bit under the bay window. Tsk! It drove me mad until things were put back together in the room and I then completely forgot about it as it's the whole thing one is looking at, visually, and if it all works, it's quite likely that only you will see it/them. but rapidly forget. Perhaps try, as I did, to see the whole thing? Regards Mo |

| Briskodian | Re: Having some issues!!!! help!!! I think that it's pretty obvious from past threads on this forum that the majority of members have no clue as to why people should care about the paintwork on a car so I think you're perhaps onto a losing battle there. I can certainly sympathise, my car is peppered with chips on the front as it's done mainly motorway miles. Thankfully it is silver so they don't look too bad but they are still there and that irritates me so I can certainly appreciate what it's like on a darker colour. Take a look on detailingworld.co.uk. You could get a dr colorchip kit from the states which would enable you to fill the chips in. Either that or touch the chips in and then wetsand them down before a machine polish to restore the shine. Whilst you could look at a respray, there are other cheaper options which may be a better bet. |

| Re: Having some issues!!!! help!!! I would get it sorted if I had the money if it was my car. I'm a little particular as my friends and family tactfully put. If it bothers you then it's a small price to pay. I agree with the comment above about it being only a matter of time until a chip or scratch happens but it will look right until that happens. You seem to have come up with 2 options, sell the car or fix it. If you sell and buy another car it will have faults as well. I'd imagine given the reasons for changing means you'll struggle to find the right car in the condition that you'd be happy with. It'll be cheaper in the long run to sort your current car so I say go for the repair option. |
