| Well after 4x3hr lessons, I have my Cat C (Class 2) test in 3 hrs. Normally I'm fine with tests and things, just getting on with it. But for this I'm bricking it. You have to answer 5 show/tell type questions (what to consider when loading the vehicle, how to check the tyres etc), the do a reversing manoeuvre and an emergency stop in the yard, then an hours drive. I just know I'm going to hit a kerb or miss a mirror check or something... ![]() Ah well, fingers crossed!!! Already signed up to a couple of driver recruitment agencies!! ![]()

| Re: HGV test this morning Cheers guys. The worst of it is the time of the test means I won't be able to squeeze in the usual bacon sarnie, so I'll be doing it on an empty stomach!!! ![]() Off now, will report back later! ![]()

| Re: HGV test this morning ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() PASSED!!! Out of the 32 people that our company put through, I am only the second to pass first time!!! Whilst driving to the centre my instructor said "most of the examiners are OK, but if you get a guy called Dave Knight then DO NOT call him mate, he really doesn't like it". No problems I thought. Then at the truckstop near the test centre, a few of the instructors having a break all said similar things, if you get Dave Knight you're doomed etc. So, sat there waiting for the examiner, in he comes "Hi, I'm Dave Knight, can I call you Tom?" to which I replied, "Sure mate, Toms fine". ****, failed before I've left the office!!! ![]() My mind went blank regarding the loading question, but stuttered an answer that was ok after an eternity of head searching... Now I've never fluffed a gear in all the training, first roundabout I came too I couldn't get it into 5th, I went to pieces but coasted around the roundabout and sorted it out when on the straight. Then on Fletton High St a lady flashed me through, then decided to come anyway, so got in a pickle. Ah well, he passed me and said it was a very competent drive, especially for a first test. He said I'd dealt with my mistakes well and generally made good decisions. 6 minors, but I can live with that!! Phew!!! I'm off to the pub to celebrate with a Yorkie Bar.
