| Briskodian | house just gone on market today, was sad until I saw this Triple carjack horror By Telegraph newsdesk A GANG armed with baseball bats and metal bars carried out three carjackings in Barrowford yesterday. At 4.15pm, outside the Spar shop in Gisburn Road, Barrowford, two men threatened the driver of a black Range Rover, but he managed to drive off unharmed. Police said the pair ran down the road to Bargain Booze, where they assaulted the driver of a silver Hyundai Coupe and forced him from his car, driving off towards Nelson. Police said this car crashed into at least two others before crashing again and being abandoned in Fleet Street. The men then ran to Scotland Road, where they stole another car, this time threatening a woman driver until she got out of her red Mitzubishi Shogun. This car was found abandoned at 5pm on Victory Close, behind Wavelengths swimming pool. No-one was injured in the attacks. Anyone with information on the incidents should call police on 01282 425 001. God, THIS IS MY TOWN, am quite glad to be moving now, but they would only get my car over my DEAD BODY ![]() |

| Re: house just gone on market today, was sad until I saw this Scary stuff - I drive through Barrowford some days on my way to work. Glad I have the anti-hijack feature enabled - and wont be stopping there for a paper! @Jec - Is yours by any chance the silver vRS with a private plate, usually parked outside the car audio place just over the bridge?

| Briskodian | Re: house just gone on market today, was sad until I saw this Hopefully you don't have satnav, as seemingly the latest wheeze is to nick someone's car from a carpark (wherever) and find the owner's address from the satnav, then go and burgle them in said car. You have to love the cheek of it (not, of course). This works well for two reasons: because said car arriving in its own driveway raises no suspicions and because the owner will clearly not be there, being stranded in the carpark sorting out his stolen car. I don't know how a home address is programmed into satnavs such that a thief can find it, but perhaps it'd be better to program "home" as the nearest village green. Regards Mo |

| Re: house just gone on market today, was sad until I saw this I heard the thing about the sat-navs a while ago, never really took much notice. I have now programed home as the major intersection that I have to cross no matter which direction I am coming from. Also have the Renault equivalent of anti-hijack enabled as well. I wonder whether having some old banger of a vehicle with an engine transplant is the new Q-car?!?!? /P

| Briskodian | Re: house just gone on market today, was sad until I saw this Perhaps you should tell them to contact the estate agents. Also put your valuables away before viewings. I doubt any serious buyer would nick them, but I've always taken the view that no-one would bother burgling me if I have nothing of value worth bothering with. Best Mo |

| Briskodian | Re: house just gone on market today, was sad until I saw this they have arranged a viewing through estate agents for tomorrow morning, don't know why they knocked on door, I wouldn't dream of doing that anyway, I can feel a big clean coming up, noooooooooooo, I wanted a lie-in ![]() |

| Re: house just gone on market today, was sad until I saw this Quite shocked to read this. Barrowford has always struck me as a nice quiet sort of place. I always keep my doors locked these days since a couple of little scrotes tried to get in my car at some traffic lights in Bolton.
