How do you become a.....

I was watching a programme on TV last night where a nice looking lady was designing bathrooms for rather well off people.

To me it seemed like easy work and as these people were happy to spend £20k on a bathroom, I suspect she got at least a 10% fee.

She had no practical skills and just arranged for tradesmen to come and fit what she chose from catalogues.

I have the skills to draw pretty pictures and do photos realistic renderings of bathrooms but how on earth do you get started as a bathroom/kitchen designer?

Advertising in Country Life magazine ??

It's all about networking - find where your target market go to socialise, turn up there and network without giving the hard sell. Offer to do some free concept designs, if they're any good you'll get the business, and then your name will get out to more customers via recommendation.

It ain't as easy as you think. For a start, any problems and it's your head that's on the block.
Couple that with the attitude most persons who can splash £20k on a bathroom have and you could easily ending up bald.
To those people, perfection is only the start.
