To then go on about peoples car is kettle black to me. I started up from a rusty £300 sierra to what i got today, I have had to deal with over 10k of debt from when i fought for access in court for my daughter. 5k loan from an ex for a wedding that never happened (in a way thank god) and then on top of that i worked every hour under the sun for two years so i could get a deposit for my car along with the money to pay off all existing loans. I have since had to change jobs due to personal circumstances and now take home £100 less a week. I work for my money as apposed to being sat on ones bum behind a computer in an office playing pinball or solitaire all day long.



I dont have a vrs partly cos i couldnt afford one, secondly i plan to have this car minimuim of 5 and probably closer to 7 years before i will be getting another one, to me that is money well spent as i know the car will last 3 years on a warrenty and from experience cars dont tend to go wrong till they are a good 5 year plus, by which point money spent on an old banger to keep it on the road and replacing old bangers with another old banger kinda becomes more expensive than just buying a car to last a good few years.

Lastly I wasnt lucky like you to have the joys of university. when i left school my dad was unfortunatley out of work due to the recession. getting into work was more important to keep the family afloat,with leaving school with barely any qualifications to get to what ive achieved so far in life i think is enough.

Spent 2 years at uni because my hand was forced into going when I didn't really want to be there as I had no real idea as to what I wanted to do and hence no drive. Working in a call centre for the last 2 years for a financial insitution has bored me to tears and I'm now looking to complete my degree and get a real job abroad. I don't currently pay any rent as I'm never there. most weekends I'm away and most evenings i'm either working late or off out doing things for people so i'm there for less than 30 hours a week. I do save as much as possible just now so that when i'm at uni and doing the necessary extra courses I can afford them.

For a comparison self storage for the space of a single bedroom is about £110 a month down here.
