Re: Motoring Perfection?

I really don't like it.

A plain unmolested 2002 looks nice but the bodykit is horrendous and I'm not keen on the interior either.

I'm sure it's very interesting to drive and a nice example of a rare car but I really wouldn't want one.

Re: Motoring Perfection?

I don't think the front valance quite gels, but I love the arches - I always find that kits like that only make visual sense when you see the wheels moving around inside them, no idea why. The interior is nicely kept too, but I'd have a hellish job driving in my favourite boots given the proximity of the throttle and brake pedals..

Re: Motoring Perfection?

I am personally of the opinion that a real classic such as the 2002 should really be kept as original as possible. That said, I quite like tastefully modified Golf mk1 GTi's so i wonder at what point I would consider (if at all) that such tweaks are inappropriate.

Re: Motoring Perfection?

I always liked the 2002 and particulalry the turbo. Some had the word 'turbo' written backwards on the front spoiler just so you'd know why the car now filling the whole of your rear view mirror had been a tiny distant speck only a few moments earlier
