Angry New Gas Boared Boiler...........Broken

The Gas Board started to fit a new boiled in my bungalow last Monday. Yesterday our new Gas Central heating boiler developed a fault, even before it has been "commissioned" by the Gas Board. It will heat the radiators, but not the domestic hot water. The manufacturer is coming out to repair it tomorrow. Can I demand a new boiler as the one fitted has to be repaired before it can be properly used for the first time? I have paid a deposit but still owe 75% of the cost Can I with hold some of the costs if a New Boiler is not fitted to my satisfaction or do I have to except the repair which Will in my eye's make this boiler a reconditioned one/Second Hand......Any advice please....Andy

... and as a new one is commissioned, an old one is condemned - ours was capped off last Friday and we're still waiting for the Gas Board to sort their act out and tell us if they have spares or not

Fraid you have to give them the opportunity to put it right. If its a Worchester boiler and they attend it will be sorted, brother works for them and they do care. British gas might give you a years free cover extra if you tell them about all the extra time off work etc.

If it's a combi it's probably a bad connection on the pressure sensor of the outgoing ho****er feed. Easily done during installation IMO. Doddle to put right.

It`s the 3 way valve which isn`t turning over so it`s not letting the hot water side heat up. Easy job to put a new one in.
