| Off to Cornwall We off to cornwall in the early hours of Monday for a break, what can people recommend for us to do in cornwall? we no doubt take a look at goonhilly (and try and get some shots with the car in it), eden project and the seal sanctuary. |

| Briskodian | Re: Off to Cornwall Hi. I can't really help as you'll have a mini text to keep happy as well, won't you? I'm wondering if somone might know of a good family resort in case the weather isn't very good... It's a while since I've been. The last time, we were quite close to the Devon border so popped over to Plymouth. Please treat as a bump ![]() Regards Mo |

| Re: Off to Cornwall I was at Future World @ Goonhilly a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Just found this Cornwall Association of Tourist Attractions which is an online version of the 2008 cornwall guide which i picked up free at Goohilly. Hope the weathers kind to you and enjoy your holiday. ![]()

| Re: Off to Cornwall Last time I went to Goonhilly you went on a coach so can't really get a picture with the car and the radio antennas in the background sadly. Lands End isn't too bad, a few things there to go to. |

| Re: Off to Cornwall Watergate Bay extreme academy! They have a website that's worth checking out. You could also pop into the Hotel there on the beach for a drink or lunch. Check out my album on FB.

| Re: Off to Cornwall All depends what you are into really .....there are some nice castles ...Pendennis at Falmouth is probably the best, there are a few national trust houses......you could always try the meadery at penzance, for an evening meal,(the one past the car parks as it is better) can even supply a phone number if you need help finding it .Near Truro there is a cider farm ........they do some very nice pear cider in cases of twelve (Cornish rattler pear cider) also cider brandy and "hic" a few other things that may need to be sampled The Cornish Cyder Farm, home of the Cornish Scrumpy Co. Cider Brandy Farmhouse Cider Cheapest fuel is from Asda at Falmouth

| Re: Off to Cornwall Last time I was down there we did the following: - Eden project - Goonhilly - Lizard point (most southerly point of UK) - Legless but Smiling Cider Farm twice and somewhere else around there that I forget ![]() - Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor - Bodmin Gaol We camped at St Mawes which was also quite an interesting little fishing village, but probably not worth a detour unless you're down that way. Have fun! ![]() Chris

| Re: Off to Cornwall Eden Project is great! Goonhilly is good for a couple of hours. Seal Sanctuary was disappointing, and very expensive. Can't recommend that. Did enjoy the Owl Sanctuary at Indian Queens though ![]() Boscastle is really nice for a clifftop walk, I can spend a whole day there! The Witches museum is worth a visit there too, only a couple of quid, and really really wierd! ![]() Lands End and Lizard are disappointing, but a good way to waste a day if you've not done them before. Blue Hill Tin at St Agnes is quite a nice little place. The best beach imho is Perranporth. The Minack Theatre is nice to have a walk round when you are down near the Lizard, really enjoyed the romance of its history. ![]() Fish and Chips at Rick Steins place in Padstow isn't as expensive as you'd think, and simply sublime. Truro is about the best place for city centre shopping. Lovely cafe opposite the big shopping precint ![]()

| Re: Off to Cornwall The Eden project, as said, is well worth a look. I would also recommend Perranporth as a great beach to go to; it's a huge beach so there's plenty of space to get away from crowds if it's a busy day (it always seems to be busy there). Tintagel Castle's pretty impressive too. St Agnes is great, I spent a whole day there looking in rock pools once ![]() The coastal path is good for a walk; I've done various bits of it and the views and cliffs are great (but some of it is pretty steep) A lot of the coastal towns have lots of character: my favourites are Mevagissey and Port Isaac. I used to go to Cornwall every year before I moved further north and I love it. Thinking of heading back next year.

| Re: Off to Cornwall been to pennaporth as a kid and went for many cliff top walks with dad. we will give the eden project a look in, lands end as it has a doctor who exhibition there (get some photos for one of sinisters patients as he likes doctor who and for minitext). im still umming and uffing on seal place as ive been there tons of times dunno if sinister would want to go. Goonhilly great for internet access, might take a drive by and see how close we can get for a photo shoot, anyone know if you can see them from any vantage points to include in the car background (obviously i cant park next to them on site). Any locations on the roads where extra observation will be needed for laser guided devices?? ![]() |

| Re: Off to Cornwall A30 at Launceston, IIRC camera and A30 between Hayle and Camborne, you will pass this one en route to Penzance, also camera on way into Truro by college and another by Cathedral view ![]() Drive carefully though, get some nasties on country lanes, I'd recommend slowing down for bends, as a lot of drivers coming the other way won't ![]() In my opinion Lands End is just a rip off, Eden project ok. Mousehole is really nice (just on from Penzance) quite magical little place at night, especially Christmas time, they have illunimated decorations on the hill-side and floating in the harbour. Enjoy your break ![]()
