Just feeling sorry for myself

Had a cyst on my shoulder blade burst last week, went to the quacks and got some AB's, but they where doing less than nothing, wondered into A&E tonight because it had started to leak and they very kindly performed a hack and dash.

Now have a 1.5" gash in my back that is an open wound packed with god knows what, looking forward to having it opened up and re-packed every 2 days for the next few weeks

, the cyst had turned into a large absess

Oh and as a pointer for anyone in future the 'surgeon' kindly pointed out, (in the middle of the procedure) that local anesthetic doesn't work on deep and infected tissue so it might 'sting a bit'

I feel for ya mate, I had one the size of my fist (thats a big fist) removed from my ..... well .... Natal Cleft, I think the medical term is, I have pics if you like

same as you, open and packed till it was stitchable and 3 months off work, had its up sides

Me too. A Pylonidal Synus it was called. Got cut down to my tail bone and left open for 3 months. Down to the nurse everyday to get it packed.
Couldn't drive for the 3 months or sit properly for 1. I ended up using my motorbike more, the position was more comfortable.

Ouch! Perhaps be sure not to do anything spectacular in case someone pats you on the back

Reason for posting is that different anti-bs work in different ways. Some don't work on me, so I make a note of those so doc prescribes an alternative in future. Whether that's relevant, I don't know as it sounds just an ickle bit more than just taking a pill...

@mrspostmanpat - Better hope that a certain person doesn't acquire one of those rather wonderful invalid tinkle bells

Painkillers are for wimps

but the AB's preclude Drink (Fek)

Just had the packing changed and been told it needs doiing every day (the snake oil seller at the hospital said every 2 days) ah well that was fun, at least getting my monies worth out of the £100 + tax I pay every week

Got the District wotsit doing it over the weekend so will try and get SWMBO to take a short vid.
