Pakistan vs Daryl Hair!!!

Has anyone been following the madness around the final test?
And what's the general opinion?
Plus how's the press handling the issue in England.
Out here in India it's a huge thing with front page coverage and entire TV shows dedicated to the entire event. Although Daryl Hair is getting more and more support as the initial reactions subside.....
Just checking on opinions in the country where the s*it hit the fan.

during the match he did the correct thing,he called it like he saw it, and 5 runs were not going to break pakistan in any case.

But the whole resignation for money thing was a big mistake, made him look look like a dishonest money grabber.

I agree. Even his decision to call the match in England's favour was right. Pakistan didn't come out for 45 min.
I think the racism issue and "national honour" thing is being needlessly brought in. There's no merit in these things. They should go as per the laws of cricket forget the d*mn "spirit".
And maybe Hair was upset when he wrote the letter. People sometime do things under pressure, of which they are not able to assess the impact.

If Pakistan wanted to protest, they should have taken the field but not played for an hour. The point gets made, and the match continues.

I agree that the racism argument is a big smokescreen. This whole controversy is bad for the game. I have read that Bob Woolmer might have a history of encouraging teams to make modifications to the ball during the game. Seems this is not the first team he has coached have been involved in this kind of controversy.
