Brief bit on the news sayingGovernment have changed their views.Instead of tolerance zones they are going for a blitz on cracking down.

Got me thinking.It always seems to be women claiming that women are being exploited.Wondered why it is never men prostituting themselves for women?

Not thinking of making a few pennies

,just wondering about male and female brain on this one.Are men just weak? Are there any women who would pay for a man ?

Might start charging the wife a fiver.Would have ten pounds to spend come Christmas.

Seriously though,why isn't it the other way round?

its not the other way round because most women can go down their local and pull a guy for a "good seeing to". As you'll know, its not so easy for men to pull women.

There ARE male prostitutes in the world...you just don't hear of them. Man-whores they're called...jigelows...alot of them in America...and women DO pay for it

Of course it is.

But they're still all over the place. Alot of them. Russians mainly. If you get caught engaging in a 'sinful act' or committing adultery, the police will arrest you, lash you, sentence you and deport you. You read in the papers every week...of course this doesn't go to say if the police see a prostitute walkin' on the road they'll arrest her. They are usually tipped off about indecency by people around who don't like it and then head off to the site and bust them.

Don't think that I would pay a man for sex, but Mil is right there are plenty male prostitutes too. Think females are just accepted more therefore there's a greater awareness of their presence

I thin the point that was being made earlier is that you don't see as many male prostitutes working the streets.

If you see a woman under a lamp post at 1am you think "there's a prostitute" but see a man doing the same thing and you think "look at that dodgy bloke, bet he's a drug dealer" (or similar)

£10+17.5% = £11.75, surely?
Plus that £1.75 would go to the government, so net would still be a tenner, would just have a lot of paper work to fill in too...wouldn't be worth the hassle of registering.

Men get sex when they can, women get sex when they want - that's probably the main reason that women don't pay for sex. Plenty of male prostitutes about though, they just tend to be there for the pleasure of other men...

Is it that men are less newsworthy rather than less numerous? Given that women are more vulnerable to mistreatment of one sort or another than are men (younger men excluded)?

Two things I dont know: Is prostitution as well as soliciting illegal here? Does the law apply equally to men and women?

Apparently all the prossies are moving over here. Our prostitution laws are 150 years old so it isn't illegal to kerb crawl etc.

Big kick up here at the moment about it too as the main area in Belfast where they solicit used to be commercial but now there's lots of apartments and the residents don't like it.

I have to agree with Diana (the transexual prostitute) who was interviewed this morning. She pointed out that prostitution had been going on there for over 20 years before the apartments went up. The residents new the reputation of the area before they moved there so they can hardly complain about it now.

In England it is not illegal to pay for sex, the illegal bit is the kerb crawling I believe, also a woman can work on her own from a residence and be perfectly legal. The only illegal brothels are ones filled with women from what I understand.

He'd meet a woman for dinner at a hotel, then go upstairs with her for whatever...

The agency got the money for the meal part of the night, he got the rest and could charge whatever he liked.

He got pretty wealthy from it (he always was a good looking b'stard!).

Could it be the easy tart ratio?

The vast majority of women are generally not easy tarts driven by a desire to get laid, wheras blokes are. Therefore, if a bloke wants to get laid he as a slim chance of getting it. However, as most blokes are easy tarts, they will often even go for it with someone they dont fancy if it is getting late at the club. This means that for a woman wanting some action, life is considerably easier than for a bloke.

This skews the supply and demand ratio resulting in more female prostitutes.

Seriously though, I think it is because men are generally able to have sex without emotional investment, whereas for women, generally, they prefer sex as part of an emotional relationship. Add to this the fact that most blokes dont cope too well with not getting laid.
