| Briskodian | Re credit rating It was on Beeb's Working Lunch prog today that if one is shopping around to see which is the best credit deal, one can ask for (or specifiy it as) a "quotation search" rather than an "application", which thus shows one to be seeking the best rate rather than being desperate for credit. I've no idea how that works in practice, either by phone or the internet, but it might be worth finding out more - or just asking the question in future as to how your enquiry might be available to others. There yer go. Regards Mo |

| Briskodian | Re: Re credit rating # # Check and improve your Credit Score | MoneySavingExpert.com Get a 'quotation search' not a 'credit search'. While it's not always possible, if you're just trying to get a specific quote for a loan, ask the lender to do a ‘quotation search’ and not a ‘credit search’. This means the enquiry won't have a negative impact on your credit score. Sadly many lenders haven't yet adopted this practice, but it is worth trying. If not, do consider whether you really want to get a quote - if it's unlikely you'll get the product, don't bother. |
