| Briskodian | Service before selling car? Could anyone advise whether it's better to have car serviced (MOT due in about 4 months) or try to sell as is? Not being a salesman, I'm assuming I'll get bottom dollar, but if garage serviced, it would then be bottom dollar minus at least a couple of hundred... ![]() Ta for any advice. Mo |

| Re: Service before selling car? If I was buying and it's due for a service I would want money off to have it done ![]() If the mot was due and that needed doing I would also want that done too ![]() Swings and roundabouts really you could advertise a few hundred pounds more and ask for ono and drop the price as a bargaining tool against a service?

| Re: Service before selling car? It depends. Selling privately, a new service stamp & fresh MOT is going to help bigtime. Part-exing, probably less so- most traders will shove a brand new MOT on at sale time.

| Re: Service before selling car? if you just do an oil and filter change (£50), you could say "it's just been serviced" which isn't exactly true but if you're selling privately it's buyer beware

| Re: Service before selling car? if selling to a garage dont worry about it as they will just stamp the book and say serviced. |
