Booked a hire van for tomorrow in order to move hosue - problem is I cant find the paper part of my driving license :S

Sounds like you're stuck. I'd call the DVLA and say that you are moving house, ask them if they can send you a fax copy of it.
Alternatively, blag with the van hire company loan without it. Might work, might not. It's only their policy saying they need the paperpart, and ive hired without. Might need to offer them a carrot of the van being in someone else's name who hasnt lost the paperpart

Alternatively, call the DVLA and say you've lost it, you might need to pay for the new one, but if you do that and explain you need to hire a van, they might fax you it as a copy. Again, might need a bit of blag.
