Princess was there actually! I left her in the passenger seat while he parked the car for me.

I was blatantly battling with a lack of power steering and driver incompetence. My driving is good, so long as I am going forward.

I am an A+L customer too, but SWMBO deals with the banking not me and my personal email has never been used with the bank,

They are all being sent out by the same phishers at the moment, as you can see by both the underlying URLs they go to (which end in the same format) and the underlying wording on them (the bit you don't see in HTML format).

I've had about 15 of the A&L ones and at least 10 of the Barclays ones during April.

The sites have been disabled for the A&L ones now but they are genuinely quite convincing if you are a trusting type like Emily-Elizabeth.

Just never, ever, believe any e-mail asking you to provide log-in information. If you want to use your bank's site, type in the internet banking address yourself or go via your bank's normal home page. Then you are unlikely to go wrong.

Using an aggregation service like First Direct's or Egg's is a good idea as well - as they obviously won't take you to phishing sites. With FD's you apparently don't even need to have any sort of account with FD (according to today's Telegraph); I use Egg's and it saves remembering lots of password info.

The Barclays one could well fool unsuspecting folks methinks, despite an error which to me is obvious (best not to say what), though less likely to be for those less savvy.

Barclays do state clearly on their internet site that they will never ask for personal details to be confirmed (other than through their login procedure of course), as do most sites, but a timely reminder to keep an eye on others IMO as the scams become more believable

I received a postal letter from Lloyds with "would of" (would have), which I guess has been sent out to millions of customers. It's depressing to think that it's likely to become even more difficult soon to tell the real from the scam.
