Angry Sorry to anyone westbound onthe A31

First I appologise if this is in the wrong place or makes little sense.

So, where was I...

Oh yes, sorry to anyone caught up no the A31 about 2 hours ago.
I got hit and run, ending up in a ditch with coolant and some oil/derv pouring over the engine and the car is almost certainly a write off.

Luckily the 4 airbags did their job and I'm in one piece with a few cuts and bruises, albeit majorly majorly f**ked off.

Police don't think they can get the bloke who drove off on my description, however ambulance at scene said i'll hurt but be ok.

Any suggested on how to get rid of taste of explosives are welcome.

Anyway, majorly ****ed off me as my insurance is just due, so i'll have lost my comming up to (but not quite) 4 years no claims

Unlucky! Whats this about someone driving off?!

Weather has been shocking today - not so much the rain, but the spray! Been up and down the entire M5 from end to end today, and it's not been pleasant!

Would have been in 9 days

What happeened, have to be a bit careful as it's with the police, but dont' think they will get far as we don't have a full reg plate and no cctv on that bit of road.

Car was tailgaiting me, pulled past, then swerved sharply infront of me ( I believe on purpose). Think he clipped front of car, i caught the spin twice, but all weigh transfered to front wheels, the back lifted off and i ended up in a ditch with the airbags gone off and only able to get out of rear passenger door on an uphill.

I'm ok, the Octy is a very very strong car IMHO, just :'( over the cost and hastle etc.

That is awful, it's no wonder they drove off but what a completely low stunt to pull.

Re: Sorry to anyone westbound onthe A31

Glad you came out relatively unharmed. Really hope they catch the other person

The road conditions were quite interesting to say the least, hit a massive puddle in the fast lane on the M27 yesterday ESP went mad. Loads of backroads flooded quite badly too.

I really hope the police is able to catch the other driver & sort him out, that really is/was shocking driving

Re: Sorry to anyone westbound onthe A31

Thanks guys,

Seen the car there is naff all left of it apart from an undamaged boot lid and rear passenger door I can't believe that Igot out with as few injuries as I did.

I'll have to go up next week and get my stuff out of it, so may post some pics.

Don't suppose anyone who has had airbags go off, knows how long the ringing noise in your ears keeps going for do they?

Thanks

Sorry to hear about it, as long as you're ok, what car was it that clipped you (if you can say)? I was wondering, you said there was no camera's on that section of road, what about before and after?

bad news and sorry to hear about it, hope there was a random witness or something that can help the idiot get caught.

its times like this that ESP might have saved the car, might be worth specing it on your next car if bought new

best of luck

Blimey, Mark that's really bad luck At least the airbags and car's strong shell did their job and you walked away with only cuts and bruises. Give us a shout if there's anything I can do to help. Still, on the bright side at least you won't have to worry about the cambelt service

I hear Ford are currently running some excellent deals on the new Focus

Would the Focus have stood up as well. OK it has 5 * NCAP v 4 BUT that only tells part of the picture. Octavia IS a strong car - even the old one.

Back on topic - Mark hope you do feel better soon and they get the person concerned.
