| Torquay advise I'm going down to Torquay in a couple of days for a weeks holiday and a wedding. Does anyone know Torquay? I'm wanting to know where the nearest car parks are to the Imperial hotel TQ1 2DG, we're camping at Widdecome Farm TQ3 1ST and it's just too far to walk Can anyone recommend something todo round there for for a family? boys are 3yr old and 1yr old. Thanks Matthew |

| Re: Torquay advise I know Torquay fairly well. ![]() Hope the noise of the Ring Road dual carriageway doesn't disturb you. I'm 100% sure there is a half underground, half on top carpark, not far from the Marina. Think the name is Coral Island, and if you follow signs for Living Coasts, it's the same parking area as that. I reckon it's around 400 yards walk up a fairly steep hill to get to the Imperial. Shame you're not staying there - Had an Xmas bash there a few years back and it's quite posh with lovely rooms. PS: What are you doing at the Imperial? It does have it's own decently sized carpark. If you need to know anything else about TQ let me know. For kids that young I'm not sure what to recommend - Living Coast itself should be good. Paignton Zoo is definitely worth it - one of Britain's best zoos, but maybe a little much for the young'uns?

| Re: Torquay advise Being on a forum that tends to be orientated around VRS's (at least in the sections I frequent), I thought this read "torquey advise" and had all sorts of strange thoughts just before I clicked the thread ![]()

| Re: Torquay advise Activities for the kids can be found in Goodrington in the shape of the waterslides they have there. With regards to parking in Torquay, there's a big car park behind the main shopping area but not sure if it's open 24hours a day or not and it's a bit of a walk to the hotel. The one near the marina is most likely the best bet but there's limited parking and it seems to always be full during the day. I would recommend Paignton Zoo and the Living Coasts as well for places to visit.

| Re: Torquay advise We'll be part of the bus load of tourist's that go up to the church there on Friday, apparently a 53 seater coach wont make it to the church. Maps all printed out and ready for the off tomorrow morning. if your in the area look out for me, I do have a brisky sticker in the bottom left corner of the rear window and I'll also have a Thule ski roof box on top Last edited by matt@theforce; 30-07-2008 at 21:54. |

| Re: Torquay advise The only thing I WOULD recommend is from Okehampton, head up Station Road and KEEP GOING - Just KEEP GOING! Eventually you come past the Okehampton army camp and you can drive into the middle of the moor. Great way to get on the moor without leaving your car. ![]() I'm curious which church this wedding is in, as the main one I know of is in the town centre with good access.

| Re: Torquay advise When I was in Torquay for a week I went to Paignton Zoo, Babbacombe Model Village, Kents Cavern caves and the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway all of which were very good but possibly none of which will be suitable for the little-uns. ![]()

| Re: Torquay advise Thanks Guys & Gals, Unfortunatly the holiday is now over and we went to Paignton Zoo, Living Coast in Torquay and The Country Life Centre in Exeter. All 3 places are recommended especially if you have small children. Jason, The church was called the All Saints Church, The coach parked up at Glendale Rd next to the Rugby Field then we changed to a Hopper style bus and went up Vicerage Road into Church Ave upto the church okehampton - Google Maps |

| Re: Torquay advise It wasn't very busy the whole time we were there and very few signs of elderly people. There were lots of families there who were all trying to save some ££'s by holiday'ing in the UK. We shall certainly be going back there next year. |
