| Afternoon. Haven't posted on here for a couple of millenia, since the wife's Fabia vRS has proven to be 100% reliable despite being caned throughout most of Europe this summer. Anyhoo - I will soon be in the market for a new car myself and my main priority is the regular conveyance of a couple of mountain bikes about the country. As far as I can tell the Roomster is the only car (as opposed to a converted van like a Berlingo) that will swallow a couple in the back and even has an attachment specifically for this purpose. Question is - has anyone tried this? Is it as easy as it looks or is the reality something like a 2 hr job to get a bike in or out and anything bigger than a BMX will be a squeeze? Must admit, having seen the Roomster in the flesh, I am rather taken with it. The front side windows are very Koenigsegg ![]() |

| Re: Roomster bike storage hi. i have a felicia hatch, and i can (without rear seats. they went out long ago) fit two full on downhill rigs in the back flip them upsidedown, whip the wheels out and shuv them in forks first. the wheels go inbetween the bikes and the rear doors. and a felicia will cost, what? a grand!!! and thats for a 1600cc. go on. give the old skuds a go....... |

| Re: Roomster bike storage IMO roof mounted bike racks are more convenient! After the ride, to much dirt and mud could problem in the car!

| Re: Roomster bike storage isnt the bike rack external on the Roomster anyway ? Would suggest you ask your local dealer, for a demo and see if 1 will a) go in the back, OR b) you need the rack.

| Re: Roomster bike storage There aren't alot of places that have wash facilities in the middle of no-where, I just cover my boot with a plastic sheet to stop the carpets getting muddy.

| Re: Roomster bike storage you should have seen the back of my old felicia . i like to have my bikes inside the car and tied in using the seat belts. that way you dont use more fuel (drag) and you can drive like a t**t and the bikes are fine. ps: how do you get on with that bash gaurd. i use a 6mm alu one cuz i have a nasty habbet of trying to fell trees with my bash ring, and then my shoulder. ![]() nice to see your on flats not them gay spd's |

| Fit a tow bar, (Westfalia for about £76.00 + £25.00 for electrics) then a slot on bike rack (Towsure Cyclemaste £24.00). no dirt in car, takes 2-3 bikes & you can still use the back seats. I have this rack, it comes with brackets to fasten to the wall so I hang the bike up in the garage with enough room to fit the car in too. Even if you don't tow, the tow bar option makes sense as it is an excellent aid to those in car parks who cannot judge the length of their car! It is also cheaper than the Skoda cycle rack at £180.00. No brainer. ![]() |
