Default Roomster Scout - The trend setter?

Who ever would have thought that the Roomster Scout would restart a trend in rubber bumpered MPV's?

Renault have waded in with this (This is the 106 bhp 2x4 version)

If you spec it up the same as 19.tdi Scout it comes in at.....

£19290

Go for the 4x4 130bhp model and its £20695

I know that you can get some decent discounts on these but still

AFAIK, that is still a Megane underneath, so I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole IMO.

The last generation Renault Megane Scenic Rx4 was around quite a bit earlier than the Roomster-Scout! The 2nd generation you pictured above is known as the Conquest at least based on this link Renault Scénic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Yet this may just be the concept name?!?

He did say restart, but the rubber-bumpers Kangoo and Berlingo MPVs never really went away, even if the RX4 did?

Yer all about 30 years too late, though:

I was thinking of this...

The RX4 was 4x4 and wasn't a bad car. That Scenic has just gone on sale. I had forgot about the Simca.

I can't really say it looks all that bad but still £20k.....

The Matra Rancho was about as off-road as a cheese sandwich. Admittedly it looked like it could tackle the rough stuff but 2 wheel drive meant there was no chance. I wonder are there any still around as French cars of that era rusted away at a shocking pace.
