| Can I firstly say that if anyone in here has a Roomster then great, they are a good practical car. However, We bought a White 3 from a garage in Cramlington, Northumberland. We have had the clunk noise when changing gear, which this dealer failed to recognise, we took it to another well known dealer in Newcastle and they straightaway found a loose Hydraulic pipe which needed placing back into its little clip. Job Done. But we have had a bad pull to the left ever since we bought it and when braking. Took it back to the dealer , my wife was honest to say she gently reversed up a kerb whilst parking and the dealer in Cramlington imediately jumped on my wifes honesty and blamed the pull to th eleft on my wifes parking! Right so if anyone reverses up a kerb be warned as your tracking may well be badly affected. They said they would have to take it to an Audi Body shop for a four wheel alignment which cost us £80. Nothing found. We took the settings to an independent tyre station who checked everything and found nothing. Tracking is ok. Well I'm sure it must be someting else then? I know all cars pull slightly to the left because of camber but I'm sorry but my right arm is quickly resembling an arm from Popeye. The dealer has been disgraceful. I have contacted Skoda UK's 'No help' line and they were equally unhelpful. We are going to take it back to the dealer in Newcastle and ask them to re-check anything else. Buying this car from the dealer was good but all the pleasure has been stripped away by quite awful after sales care. Just becaus emy wife was honest in trying to help the service department they said straight away she caused this pull to the left so we are not interested but if you want it checked pay £80! Unreal. I know tracking is not covered under any warranty but this is clearly something else! Has anyone else had the same pull to the left? And as a foot note the interior quiality of the plastics is quite rubbish. I had an Old Fabia Tdi for 4 years having covered 147,000 miles and you could be forgiven for thinking you were in an Audi. I heard also the new Golf's interior quality is suspect compared to the version before? Kel |

| Re: Roomster Trash Perhaps you could take the time to write a dealer review in the dealers section of the forum. I hope you get things sorted.

| Re: Roomster Trash Kel - is the dealer in Newcastle Benfield? The Cramligton lot appear to be similar to a growing number of dealers that really dont get Customer Service at all - happy customer = more business.... not hard really. Anyway, I had a Roomster for a week and I had no handling issues, so its a fault not a feature, as it was suggested by a dealer to me the the old Octy displayed truthfully - they really said it was designed that way so get used to it!!!Last edited by numskull; 11-07-2007 at 14:02. |

Yeah the Benfield Crew seemed to be quite helpful and did not have a good thing to say about the Cramlington lot. (Rivalry?) Ive heard by a few people that garages are quick to say its a characteristic of the car! I think not. Its just so very disappointing MAYBE THE TITLE 'ROOMSTER TRASH' IS A BIT HARSH,,, sorry.

| Re: Roomster Trash Lol, thats what I call your underwriting helpline at work! To be fair though, skoda are normally brilliant at solving customer dissatisfaction. They were great with my mum and dad's cars.

| Re: Roomster Trash Thats funny , when you read the dealer review section on here , it seems to favour Silbury over Benfield....now I havent a clue where to buy my next Skoda from! I hope you get your problems sorted Kel , theres nothing worse than faults on a brand new car to take the shine of what should be an exciting time! (says the man whose 3 day old Ford Escort barbacued its entire wiring loom , circa 1989)

I'm also interested in what Roomster owners think of the quality of the interior compared with the old Fabia. The new Golf's interior , well I have three friends who have a new Golf and they are not impressed by it compared with the previous model.

| Re: Roomster Trash A real shame to read the top post - Ive had a 1.4TDI for a month now and I have to say it shows none of the traits you describe. Build quality is pretty dam good imo. Good luck is getting the issue resolved!
