Slight hesitation

Roomster 1.9. At part throttle and between 1500 and 2000 rpm I occasionally get a slight hesitation from the engine/throttle. Popped into the dealers yesterday to ask if they knew anything about similar faults with the same engine. "Never heard of it they said" (suprise, suprise). Has anyone else noticed the same with their Roomie? Anyone got a cure? I will let the dealer have a look sometime soon, but as it is an occasional hiccup, I know that they will find no fault!

Re: Slight hesitation

Other than a certain EGR issue know with certain PD engines this would be news to me. You had any codes read off?

You don't have a tuning box fitted do you?

Re: Slight hesitation

No codes read off, and the car is standard 23k miles and no other obvious faults. Fuel consumption hasn't changed. I did ask about the egr issue, but was told that this could not be the same fault.

Re: Slight hesitation

My 2006 Octavia 1.9TDi 105bhp had an intermittent but distinct hesitation under gentle acceleration around 2000rpm.
Reported it when I took it in for service - dealer knew all about it - fixed with a software update. Dealer (DM Keith, Bradford) reckoned it applied to the 1.9 TDi engines built in 2006.

Re: Slight hesitation

my 1.4 petrol seams to have a bit of a hesitation too,
I've only noticed it after slowing down for roundabout and now stopping before pulling away.

I i slow for a roundabout, change down to 2nd and accelerate onto the roundabout with out stopping, the engine will accelerate as soon as you depress the accelerator pedel but only for about a second, before the power is cut, then there is about a seconds pause before the engine picks up again, this can be a bit worrying if it's a busy roundabout with cars closing down quickly

I had this issue with a Chevrolet Kalos. It needed an ECU upgrade. Not say it's going to be the same but it would be worth consulting the dealer.
