Sorry I think that car is a bargain. Bearing in mind what seats it has proves in that condition its never seen the sun. Very nice car. What other make of car could you get at that age with such low miles or that price

Nice car but I have to agree, it is far too expensive. That is Rapid money.

I picked up my 120L5 in March with 25K on the clock for about £600.

I agree, Rapids are more than likely to attract that sort of money and are worth it.

That 105 LUX just doesn't do it for me, maybe its the godawful skoda beige colour.

Shame its not red or pebblestone like Tailhappy's 105LUX.Now that is worth £1495

Well it does look nice - but I agree about the colour - not my first choice either. The other horrible colour is that battleship grey - makes the cars look slow and gloomy.

Actually, there is a 13000 mile 120L that was for sale near me. For sale in 1995 that is, and it is still there on the drive. Body looks perfect, but the tyres have gone flat and the glass has green all over it. I spoke to the owner and he said it was working fine, but as no-one bought it, it was never used or touched again. The hydraulics are stuck now sadly.

It maybe Rapid money, but its a damn sight rarer than a Rapid. At last count only 17 taxed ones left as opposed to 5 times that for the Rapids.

Hertfordshire. MOT runs out next month and overheating could mean all sorts on one of those...you'd need to get it checked out properly!

They are a bl00dy nightmare for overheating - I had a 1986 120LS that kept blowing gaskest, despite several trips to the dealers to have it sorted. It would run about 500 miles then blow again. That was back in 1990 and in the end I bunged another engine in and sold it.Then I had a trouble free Rapid for 18,000 miles, followed by several more rear engined 'kettles' that kept boiling up, no matter how many times rads were flushed, pipes were checked, systems were bled, head gaskets were changed, fans were checked, thermostats replaced, rad fan switches installed etc.And all had the correct mix of anti-freeze in too.
Thats what would make me very wary of a rear engined Skoda now.I just dont fancy replacing head gaskets every other month

Never, ever had a Favorit or Felicia blow a gasket though.

engine issues are totaly nothing on these machines

either the stat has cried enough or theres trapped air (obviously i guess)

just add fav/fel/fab motor or fix its 105 motor and enjoy not having to do lengthy welding sessions to the usual suspect areas or retrim the interior
a bargain if it goes cheap!!!!!!!!

I agree, a 135/6 motor would be good in it.There have been 2 Rapids on ebay this month, both needing welding, one reached £83, the other £93.Seems to me prices of rough ones seems to be dropping a bit.A few months ago they were fetching silly money without MOT's, now they arent even fetching their weigh-in value.

Liner heights need checking....often missed!

probably the value of something like non moteed, non runner vehicles on ebay or other depends on how many enthusiasts live near to its location

i guess liner height is crucial given that the block expands more than the liners
i noticed that if the gap between the liner flats at the top are not parallel then the expansion would force the liners to move apart and fret the head gasket through continuous heat cycles
this i found on my 105 engine and a fely motor that donated its cylinderhead ,probably not a common prob though

It wont need anything doing with its engine...it is getting weighed in for scrap on Wednesday......my nice 136 engine with Weber 40dcoe and sports exhaust will be going in the back!
The one I'd bought needed several hundred pounds worth of welding and paint....so buying this beauty made sense....and it is almost perfect bar a dent in one door and a small dent on the rear arch. No rust anywhere.
