1988 SKODA 130 Estelle sport on eBay, also, Skoda, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-Jun-08 20:03:21 BST) Now this is one heck of a nice Estelle.A genuine Sport conversion too.I remember seeing one waiting to turn out of a junction back in the early 90's and pulled over with my window down just to hear the roar of the exhaust! (Sad, but true...). I was driving the work van at the time and my assistant thought I'd gone totally loony, jumping up and down in the seat I was with excitement, telling him to shut up and listen to this Skoda as it goes by .

Its hard to really judge the price on it as like the ad says, it really needs a paint job. I suppose around £500-£800 as it stands and maybe £1500+ fully sprayed with decent 2-pack paint, not cellulose.Like daverapid says though, it is a good one and the bloke selling is a member of the Skoda Owners club. It all depends I guess on the extreme rarity of the Sport model, and if you have a sentimental reason for buying one. I had a newish Rapid Sport replica in 1991 and loved it to bits, and remember seeing a few 130L Sports around and always wanting one, so to someone like me its worth a lot more because of nostalgic value. They were near £5500 new in the mid-late 80's.

hi guys, the car is actually mine basically as i have said in the auction i need to free up time and space so i can concentrate on Elaine's (my other halve) S110R restoration. Having 9 skodas at moment takes a fair time to work on and with a near 2 year old taking up my time and attention i had to make the sad decision to part with the sport. value wise im already gobsmacked there are 89 people watching the auction and repeated questions asking me if i have a buy it now price. Still today after the car has gone past 4 figures.

Excellent result.......rarity,documented including rennovation and sought-after by two or more enthusiasts/collectors. Just what was needed to bring some common sense to pre-VW Skoda values. Must go and mention it on VWG forums now !

| ..I was the other bidder that lost, lost it by £50. Well, Il never see another estelle like that on ebay. They just dont make em like they used to. At £1950 the guy got a bargain, its worth more than that to me. Think of what it will be worth in 15-20 years when everyone is driving round in dull, boring and lifeless plasticy bubble shaped cars that wont appreciate in value at all.

Yep, I would have to say a bargain. I only know of one other Estelle Sport left. As for the £1500 fully resprayed lol Daverapids is worth that, if not more and his is a "common"(sorry Dave) 136 Rapid. Genuine Rapid Sports always reach twice what a standard car does and Sport Estelles were extremely rare new, let alone now.

I agree, genuine unmolested Sports and original models have and do attract higher prices now, which can only be a good thing.Maybe the rest of the Classic car scene will accept the rear engined Skodas as the true classics they are now prices have risen sharply. I do think that originality counts too though, as there seem to be a few Estelle Two's turning up with Mk1 twin headlight front ends and Pre Dec 1981 rear panels with coffin lights. To me, they look odd and surely are not as valuable as an original unbutchered model.

| my 120L5 will only be worth pennies then, wth the mods im doing to it!! First the sills came off and box section was seam welded in as in the cabriolets, new sills then welded on next cross bracing goes in behind the front seats , and the rear doors welded shut and smoothed, next the fun bit CHOP THE ROOF OFF, smooth off pillar closes and roofline above the screen, then panel over the area behind the seats. will be ready for the road in august 2010

Ahhh yes, but that will be unique, and I doubt you'd want to sell it anyway.Theres obviously loads of work going into it, not just making a Mk2 look like a Mk 1.

I remember reading in a 1990's Owners club newsletter about a chap who was going to chop the roof off an S110R and turn it into a Roadster.Wonder if it ever happened?
