| mpi fuel injection conversion I am trying to fit mpi to the estelle (fuel economy and all that ) i have the main injection garb but the immobiliser is a total mystery to me (i though it was just a 12v feed to the ecu interupted by the transponder..............definately isnt!!) also can i cut the loom and extend the wires to mount the crank sensor next to the front pulley does anyone know where could i get a imobiliser box of tricks or how to bypass it? any help greatly appreciated |

| Re: mpi fuel injection conversion Is the immobiliser part of the ECU then? Anything I've driven it worked by disabling the starter motor. As for how to bypass it, Megasquirt or Emerald? Ok, that's more "throw away ECU and fit new one with no immobiliser". |

| Briskodian | Re: mpi fuel injection conversion I dont specicfically know about Skodas, but if its like the other cars I do know about, bypassing the immobiliser is going to be tricky unless there is a business out there already doing it (in the case of Saabs there are several). You will get more power and a better set up by going down the megasquirt/Emerald route, but obviosuly it will cost money. |

| Re: mpi fuel injection conversion thanks for the advice the immobiliser supposedly is made of three bits ;key chip, reader device and a transponder unit (all seperate from the ecu)however it all seems pricey from the dealer and scrapyards always lose the keys i am looking for the megasquirt system atm,it seems relatively easy to get a base map to get it on the road, but i have virtualy no idea of what sensors are compatible with megasquirt i.e ford edis coils packs, crank sensors trigger wheels and all that stuff |
