| Re: Pimp My Skoda Welcome to the site. Look's like it'll be a laughh when it's finished, although the gear linkages could be tricky. Is that a vauxhall OHC engine? Why not fit one in both ends or stick a v6 mondeo or vectra engine in , there's plenty of room. Keep us posted, might be worth putting it in the project journal section where it could go in and won't get lost in amongst all the other 'what bulbs for my felicia' threads here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/project-journals/

| Briskodian | Re: Pimp My Skoda Hi yeah it should be a laugh to drive when it's done... yeah it's a 2lt 8valve engine (about 115bhp). The plan is to get it working with this engine, get the SVA and MOT and then i am saving up for a 2 ltr turbo engine from a calibra turbo and tune it up (read 300 - 400 bhp!) |

| Re: Pimp My Skoda IIRC from 'Scrappy Races', it's illegal to have a different engine for the front and rear wheels, but if they both go into some sort of common transmission, then it's OK. Allegedly.

| Briskodian | Re: Pimp My Skoda Been ill for the last couple of days and not bothered checking this thread.. Thanks for the kind words everyone... here is the full build to date on a vauxhall forum!! Skodall Favalier RWD - MIGWeb my origional plan was to tune the standard engine, leave it in the front and make it into a nice rally car... but my next door neighbour gave me a vauxhall cavalier for free, so i decided to do this... it's something that i have always wanted to do! Its going to be a sleeper, matt black, steel wheels, and ultimately have a 2lt turbo engine from a calibra! about 3-400 bhp!! Will stick a few more pictures up when i get more done... its going to take a little while now to make more progress, i need to save up to buy the tube for the roll cage and spaceframe, as well as new suspention all round, and a few other bits... but i hope to have it done before christmas!!! |

| Briskodian | Re: Pimp My Skoda oh, and two engines are not illegal, as long as both engines drive the same axle! read hybrid, twin bike engined cars etc... it is illegal to have two engines running two different axles independantly!!! as far as i am aware! as for a V6 i could do, but i would want to mount it longditundially rather than transvers, and that would require a totally different setup! |

| Briskodian | Re: Pimp My Skoda O.. someone mentioned the gear linkage being a problem... the great thing about this particular gearbox is the fact that the gear selector is on the top, and it can be turned arround so the selector comes out of the front of the box and facing the driver.. so, linkage wise it is realatively easy... and all the gears WILL be in the correct places!!!!!! there is a slight problem in the fact that the turbo engines run a different box (same mounts so it will drop right in) and that box does not have the option to turn the selector around. |

| Briskodian | Re: Pimp My Skoda I thought that most of the hybrids had the leky motor in the front.. strange... I know there are a few 2+2 cars (i.e 2 engines one in the front one in the back) and i thought that they were road legall.. e.g. a car called big dub. but then i have also heard that they are not road legal! I did think about twin engines but i want this to be a track car so i want handleing, and twin engines would not be very good for that! |

| Re: Pimp My Skoda I don't believe motoring law is generally retrospective, so something like the original 1960s Twinis or the Citroen 2cv 4x4s are still legal, but building a new twin-engine car (other than from a shell that pre-dates that law) would be illegal. |

| Briskodian | Re: Pimp My Skoda The drive is ALOT tidier now, which has definatly made them happier!! I had the skoda, the donor cavalier, and a clapped out old Citroen AX for a while, as well as my civic! i have now got shot of the cav and the AX, and tidied all the engines up into my shed, so it is a lot better now! |

| Re: Pimp My Skoda there is a kit car called the somthing? "tiger", that held the 0 to 60 recold. it had two engines, one in the front, one in the back. with two gear boxes and two gear sticks (side by side sequentiol) one engine drove the front. and one drove the back. so it must be legal some how. |
