| Re: Real Mk1 Octavias Great to see it out on the road and being used! It's an odd feeling working between cars, certainly ones with 40 years technology gap; although I guess wheels, rotating engine, glass... Cracking projects, thankyou for sharing them.

| Re: Real Mk1 Octavias I love the blue Octavia too much. It was only with me for a few weeks but I really miss it now, especially after seeing these pics!

LOL! So do I actually , although I never had the pleasure of 'hiding' in the back of an old Skoda when I was little , my Dad had a yellow VW Polo instead! I do think that Blue Octavia is gorgeous though , I'd be proud to own that.

| Re: Real Mk1 Octavias Actually, I did used to have an issue with Estelles back in the day, but that was mostly due to the number of them that had a "motorboat rake" when new and empty, when other rear-engine cars like the VW Type 1 and Renault 8 didn't. |

| Briskodian | Re: Real Mk1 Octavias Btw good to see a couple of Briskodians whilst I was visiting the SOCGB stand at the NEC classic yesterday. The show was fabulous, however, even more useful for me, was meeting the owners of the saloon & combi on the club stand. They've set a high benchmark for me to attain. |

| Re: Real Mk1 Octavias :thrdjck: I head from someone recently that "the new Octavia will be a retro design". Does anyone know anything of a plan to make the A6 look like these? |

That was possibly the biggest meet up of old octavia owners for some time. Nigel seemed to think there's only 2 saloons with tax discs at the moment, i.e. mine & his. So they're quite a rare breed!!! Dunno how, but I managed to not take any fotos of skodas at the nec!

| Re: Real Mk1 Octavias Are you looking for rubbers for fixed or moving windows? Just that I'd think a Uk trimmer will be able to supply the correct section(s) for the moving windows, though the shaped mouldings for the fixed ones might be tricky. |

| Briskodian | Re: Real Mk1 Octavias Well not too much to report on restoration progress really .... Although there's now some East German classic spares specialists trying to find suitable window rubbers too. The CZ stocks seem to have dried up. Fingers crossed. |
