| I was rummaging in my garage yesterday and I now have a few questions for those who may know. Oil filters. I found three different types - all oficial Skoda ones. 1st was a huge gold 1980's one that had Skoda stamped on it in black, then there was some medium sized white ones and then some much smaller black ones. Which is the best type to use? Skoda badges. I found a box of new stickers and badges from the 70's and 80's - they say such things as 'SUPER ESTELLE', 'RAPID', '5 SPEED' and 'SKODA'. Some are long stickers and some look like rear panel and door badges. Worth keeping or junk? I found a box of Skoda key blanks. Ignition keys and loads of different patterns of 'FAB' door keys - with a greyhound emblazoned on them. Worth keeping? Then there was a bag of solenoids for the Mk 1 carburettor - nearly threw them out but are they still of any use? I found a as new Weber carb and fitting kit for the Estelle 1200 and 1300 engines - still in it's box. I have a 1050 engine so it is of no use to me. I also found a new 105 carb for the early car. Mine is late so again no use to me. I will be rummaging again today - I may find more stuff. I must clear the garage, but don't want to throw away a good item. Ian |

| Is this a way of getting around the sales restricted to Freedom members rule ![]() Of course, as you know, all these bits should be kept, i'm sure you'll be getting some PMs in your inbox shortly. |

| Not for sale I can assure you! If any items are of interest I can bring them to a meet and give them away to anyone who wants them. No fee to someone who can use it. Ian |

| PLEEEEAAAAAAAASSEEEEEEEEEE don't throw ANYTHING for old Skodas away! If you don't want them I'm happy to store them as I get quite a lot of requests for the type of stuff you've mentioned. I should have showed you my stock upstairs at the garage. ![]()

| I read somewhere some theory that bigger is better for some reason when it comes to oil filters (even recommending to rummage through filters to find bigger ones with same thread and mating size but bigger filter), I think it's something to do with a flow cut-off level getting increased somehow. Any chance of pics of the Skoda badges/stickers? ![]() I'm sure everything there would be of use to someone. |

| OK, I will hold onto the bits. I am renting two garages at the moment you see - one has too much 'junk' in it and I was wanting to reduce it so as to just have one rented garage. Sure - I will photograph the badges and post back. Ian |

Sadly there's no exceptions to the rules. ![]() This thread however is asking advice and not selling anything. Should that change, or become apparent that selling is going on, the established policies would be applied by the mod team. | |

| I'm very interested in any Rapid stickers you might have. I have 2 Mk1 Rapid 120's which had a sticker at the back rather than proper badges.

| hi mate oil filters: i've found that they're all much the same, but that usually they seem to like it best if the white medium ones go on 136 engines and the black narrow ones suit the older 105-130 engines. just my tuppence though! the stickers are really hard to get and you definitely should hold on to them, or find someone who's restoring one of those cars. and the weber carb - mine is a bit junked up and i have an mot in 2 weeks for which i will need a new carb to pass emissions... on a 1200 estelle... y'know it makes sense! |
