| Briskodian | Hey Guys, as many will know i recently posted a thread regarding the poor fuel economy in my M reg Favorit. well firstly thank you all and i now have some figures to gain some feedback from you guys. I now get this after having the sensor changed to determine how much fuel should be sucked in. If i put in £30 i can drive around at about 50mph on wideish country lanes and A roads and get 250 miles. some times opening it up a bit. what you think ??? good or bad ?? |

| Re: UPDATE : Favorit Fuel Economy Is the £30 a full tank to the brim? I'd expect to get about 250 miles from full to the brim to nearing empty, but most (about 200) of that would be constant 70mph motorway driving. This is in my L reg estate. I can only go by sat nav and guessing as my mileometer gets stuck occasionally so cannot put my trust in it. If much of your driving is taxing, i.e. stop-start and uphills I would say you're not doing too bad. About 12 pence per mile? As I understand it the official figures from back in the day for the hatchback are 35.3mpg around town and 51.4mpg at a steady 56mph. I don't think I'd expect any Favorit now to reach over 50mpg though unless it was rebuilt to be as new. Last edited by anewman; 05-06-2007 at 19:39. |

| Re: UPDATE : Favorit Fuel Economy My M-reg Favorit estate averages around 37mpg on daily commuting / shopping. All short trips under 6 miles, with a very occasional longer A & B road round trip of about 30 miles. Replacing a ridiculously worn timing chain made no difference to the MPG at all... SImon H |

| Re: UPDATE : Favorit Fuel Economy All of the 5 Favorits I've had over the years got between 300 and 350 miles on a full tank with varied driving, so as I said, nowt to worry about.

. Maybe I should try make some effort to calculate my MPG more accurately. Only problem is my mileometer occasionally getting stuck. I can't keep my eyes on it mile after mile to check ![]() | |
