Dealer Tack Night Knockhill Just though I would share a great event with you My Local Dealer in Broxburn along with Chathams Edinburgh & Dunfermline invited approx 25 vRS owners to sample the delights of Knockhill last night, for a mere £35 per car for 2 Hours of track time. I set off with trepidation, as I never done a track nght, and after a briefing I felt even worse ! A great turnout including the Star Performance Fabia, and a large number of dealer demos (Furby and Octys) to be thrashed around the track A few slowish laps and get the road lines, and it was whoosh !!!! down the main straight. The circuit is very up and down so after 5 Laps I brought the car in the cool down and a toilet stop for the driver !! I was taken out in a Furby vrs, which was very impressive, and more sideways than i thought was possible for a small hatch. So with Confidence growing I went out again , and managed a set of aggresive set of laps, so impressed with the limit of grip, of my standard car, with some Toyos Proxes T1R on the front allowed the back to waggle a bit. The chicane was may highlight flat out in 3rd over a left / right takes some nerve but very satisfying when you get it right (expensive if you got in wrong !) The highlight of the night was a instructor in a new Octy Vrs remapped to to 260bhp, and car and driver were amazing, for those who know Knockhill, we were pulling 115 mph before the braking area into Duffus, and then just sideways through it !! My local dealer hopes to make this annual event, so I will keep you informed. PS Even the weather was brillant. Thanks to the Guys at West End, and for the fabia passenger laps!! ![]()

Re: Dealer Tack Night Knockhill £35!!?? You were had!! I went on a similar thing last year with Newmarket Garage, Stirling - but it was free! Nah, seriously, £35, or even £50+ would be a bargain for a day on the track. The one I went on was between Newmarket and other Skoda main dealers throughout Scotland. They split everyone in to three groups and rotated between test driving the new models, then skid control and then track testing the various models and hot laps with the Knockhill instructors. Finally everyone had a chance to take their own car on to the circuit. Was a fantastic day out, and apparently supsised some of the people higher up in Skoda who didn't think their customers would be interested in such a thing....pah!

Re: Dealer Tack Night Knockhill Each dealer was only allowed a max of 20 customers. Think it was tough for them choosing who got to go, but judgind from the day, most of the people there had bought a few cars from them - taxi drivers, long standing customers or people who had dragged their sister, aunt brother and mother in to Newmarket to buy a Skoda. Hopefully it will be a fairly regular thing and other customers with vRS's will get a chance as well.
