Arrow Loch Lomond BBQ - Sat 16th April (afternoon&evening)

Hi Folks,

Well this month I figured we (clubSE Glasgow) could give the bowling a bye, and head for the countryside of a weekend early evening.
Get everyone to meet somewhere in the west end (prob Safeway Anniesland around 3pm), then head en-masse for Loch Lomond (within 45mins of city centre) or Loch Lubnaig (by Callander - around 60mins from Glasgow) armed with disposable BBQ's, burgers and sausages, marshmallows (for toasting) and some cans of fizzy-pop.

Once there we can build a small fire, start the barbee, and chill out for a while in one of the country's more picturesque areas.

How does that sound?

I'm happy to buy food etc up front and take small donations there to cover my costs, with any extra monies going to a charity. I will need definate numbers to make sure I've plenty to go around.

This would be suitable for children and dogs if anyone wanted to bring them.

Note: I would advise anyone that's coming, that we'd be likely to be pottering around on the beach, so a change of footwear is advisable if you don't want half the beach on the floor of your car! lol
As always in the Scottish outdoors, you should be prepared for cool temperatures, and perhaps even some precipitation!
And how could I forget the dreaded Midge? I've got stuff that's really good, but it's pretty greasy, and only a last resort, but jungle formula etc would be handy too.

I've invited yourselves, UKMKIV's and ClubLupo to this, and hope we can get a good turnout for it.

Please post below if you'd like to come, and roughly how many you will be.

Cheers,

Sounds great!!!

When can you let me know the meet up time and location?

It sounds like a brilliant idea....it means a nice long drive for me, but there doesn't seem to be much happening in Cumbria on the VAG meeting front

And anyway, it's always nice for an excuse to come home to Scotland

Let me know soonest and I can confirm attending.

By the way I can supply some food and portable cooking equipment to help out if required ?

cheers

Just lucky I guess

Stan. The meeting point to head for the hills will probably be at Safeway Anniesland cross - a couple of miles north of the Clyde tunnel on Sat 16th, and around 3pm. This will save trying to negotiate our way through city centre traffic, and mean it'll be easier to convoy together all the way there.

I may change the venue for the actual BBQ to somewhere quieter tho as it's pretty busy up there on a weekend. Loch Lubnaig is a bit further away, but the roads are in better condition, and more 'driveable'

Also - if the weather forecast is really poor - I'll cancel for another date when hopefully it'll be dry!

I'll wait and see how many we're expecting. I reckon a couple of disposable BBQ's will be fine, but I'll let ya know

seems like a good idea to me......

Just need to find some Bacon Grill and it'll be like old times

Woah there! The only person coming up from Manchester is Badja - (Lisa) I believe, and I've invited her to stay at mine that night if she does make the trip.

If you're playing with friends - you've no chance of getting away with cheating, or poker faces for that matter!
