for the rest of the lads from the east get to kinc bridge and follow the 876 to the signs and jobs a good un.

anyone fancy meeting in glasgow and moving as a convoy or everyone just wanna make their own way there? quickest way for me is kirky/moodiesburn/80/876 but can go glasgow if a few peeps are meeting there.

glasgow peeps meet somewhere llike garscube road or st georges road?

My workmate lives very near part of your route from this part of the world. Maybe meet up somewhere like "tickled trout"or B&Q at Bishopbriggs before heading through on back roads to Moodiesburn taking extra care for the silver Octy vRS with the extra lights in the back window on the M80

I'll find out what time the smaller car park up from the visitor center closes, i think it's quite early.

For the moment we'll meet at the main car park which the signs guide you to, on the opposite side of the canal from the wheel, its open all the time.

@Chas you must have come on all the back roads, it's easier by M80

If the gates at the entrance close at the same time as the visitor centre then we could either meet at the car park on the falkirk road side or failing that another alternative would be the monobloc car park in front of Falkirk Football Stadium.
Chas what time did you get up there last night and were the gates closed?
I may have a wee reccy tonight

i was there about 7.30, the big coach car park was open as well as the other 2 small car parks which you have to pay, (dont think you have to pay at night) you could drive straight in though, so we could meet up in those car parks no problem. I could drive right down to the visitor centre as well even though it was closed

That sounds like a goer then!

Not sure what everyone's plans are for afterwards but there is quite a good Chinese buffet place in camelon if anyone is interested to go there?

Re: Scottish Meet 14th May Falkirk Wheel car park 7pm

The bottom car park is a accessed from a road off the roundabout where the falkirk road and glasgow road meet just before the rail bridge on the M876 side of camelon.
You can't access the wheel from this side though i don't think ( unless you want to get wet! )

HI niallyp, right year too early for me at 5pm though still at work at that time. Between 5.30 and 6 heading towards cross from station would have been me-Spotted?

If not I know that there is a 54 plate in red and a yellow 02 plate kicking about area.

Hi Chas, What area of Glasgow are you in? North/South/East/West?
I am in outskirts of west end and niallyp is from Drymen. We are going to meet up with my workmate and head through via Kirky/Moodiesburn to M80/876.

Let us know whereabouts you are and we can arrange to meet up and head through.

Re: Scottish Meet 14th May Falkirk Wheel car park 7pm

Beedie, great news about the cae getting detailed.

Directions

From North

Takr the M90 down as far as Kinross then head for Kincardine Bridge then take M876 until junction 1, then take A883 into Falkirk, follow this for 2 miles and you arrive at the Falkirk wheel / park and ride car park.

From West

Take the M/A80 then at Denny take M876 until junction 1, then take A883 into Falkirk, follow this for 2 miles and you arrive at the Falkirk wheel / park and ride car park.

From the East

By far the easiest way ( but a few miles longer ) is to stay on the M9 till junction 8 and take the M876 until junction 1, then take A883 into Falkirk, follow this for 2 miles and you arrive at the Falkirk wheel / park and ride car park.

If concerned PM me and i'll let you have my mobile number, i'll also check the other car park prior to meeting those that followed the directions

Hey up.
As for peolpe from Glasgow i stay just outside Kilmarnock so will have to head through Glasgow to get to Falkirk, i will be heading up some back roads then the M77 M8 and so on. But will take a wee detour if there is going to be a convoy?
