Re: The BRISKODA Summer BBQ Overnight Meet

Plan so far is to arrive 10.30/11.00ish.
Put tents up and grab some lunch (Activity Centre or pub).
Set off on a drive about 1.30/2.00ish. I've got a route planned and had a practice run with Mr Grumpy last Saturday. We will lead a group each and maybe Col G if he's still coming - he should know most of the roads.
Brief pub-stop while out on the drive.
Back to the campsite around 5.00/5.30.
Send a few catering volunteers to Tesco for food and disposable b-b-q's.
Then eat, drink and be merry with plenty of lagers/real ales/Mr Grumpy's Italian Merlot (send him a PM) on the campsite if its a decent evening, or a few beers in the local pub (200yds away) if not.
For those that are staying over (go on Loz - you know you want to) breakfast available Sun morning in the Activity Centre, or cook your own.

Re: The BRISKODA Summer BBQ Overnight Meet

Sounds fantastic, I am really looking forward to this one. I am actually going to be able to precipitate in the driving side of things as Captain Slow Vladimir is staying at home, being replaced by new Skoda. I am not sure if I can have some big enough Briskoda.net stickers made in time, so I may look slightly anomalous.

Has anyone had any experience of Tesco’s Value tents (£7!) as they sound too cheap to be useable? I am kind of hoping they have the full Blue and White stripes down the side with Value stamped all over it. Perhaps an ingredients list that includes E numbers, re-hydrated tent poles and 60% modified corn starch.

Has anyone heard of the ale known as Thomas Hardy?

Re: The BRISKODA Summer BBQ Overnight Meet

To assist in fnding the meeting point, keep an eye out for the brown tourist information signs showing Burrs Country Park - that is where the campsite is.

I will be there fairly early next Saturday - if anyone wants my mobile number in case you get lost, drop me a PM and I will let you have it. I should be able to help with directions.

As mentioned above, more details are at http://www.burrs.org.uk/find.htm

I may be away for a few days early next week, so apologies if I don't reply immediately, but I will be around again from Thursday evening.

I now I've not said much in here, but this clashes with a car "show" in Yeovil I'm going to. Its an overnighter as well, and has some sideline things going on like tractor pulling and stuff. Should be good. Taking an outer of beer too, just for me!

No idea what spec as I haven't picked it up yet, it's certainly not going to be as good as the Superb!!

My car is in at Peugeot's accident repair centre hence why I have a 207 as the 'Loan Car'.

precipitate? I didn't know you could rain emily!

I'm not bothered about camping over, was camping at USC last weekend, it was absolutely uber awesome!! The secong night I slept on my mates air bed (I had been employed as a 'separator' as apparently men don't like sleeping together!! ) and it was much better than the humpy bumpy ground! we were all up most of the night drinking, bbqing and raving in the dance tent anyway so not much sleeping was really done!!

Oh, and I also got very cold at 5am ont he first night, even though I was in PJ's, a thick fleece and a sleepign bag!! On the second night I was fine, sandwiched between two bodies, again with PJ's, thick fleece and sleeping bag, and also a duvet...mmm was sooo nice and cosy!!
