I would be up for this but i think i'm going down to Torquay the 2nd weekend and i can never commit this early to any other weekends. The 1st weekend will probably be the best for me though.

Re: Briskoda Summer BBQ

I think wev'e established that there is enough interest in a summer BBQ so who's gonna take this by the scruff of the neck and actually book up somewhere before it gets too late?.

I'm looking, but it's not proving very easy to persuade campsite owners that we're going to behave on their site . I will keep trying though

Just tell them we are all members of a skoda fan club. They will never think we are going to be trouble.

I'll give a hand soon, very busy at the moment with my HNC exams and a possible job change looming, but I'll try and find some time soon.

There is a camp site - scout related and field style camping near hope in the peaks.

Would be keen on this event so let me know.

from post 19 on this thread

Someone has all but said it .......but you will have a devils own job trying to persuade a camp/caravan site owner to let you have that much space for a weekend as it would stop their normal trade for two weeks (Saturday to Saturday) and they will loose a fortune !!!

Best bet is a showground or field, but you will need toilets, waste disposal and a safe water supply....................and it does need to be nearly flat

We are having just those problems trying to set up a BBQ and Camping around Marlborough........so good luck with the effort, we know how difficult it is

Re: Briskoda Summer BBQ

I may have some good news . I think I've found a site near Bakewell in Derbyshire. Just need to speak to the owner and see what he thinks.

A friend uses the site with a group of ten mates, so groups like ours may not be a problem. There are showers and toilets on site and a couple of fields, so getting a corner out of the way should be possible. I should know something by the middle of next week.

Keep us posted - the one I suggested in Bury is still possible, but Derbyshire is probably a more central location for the Briskoda masses!

Re: Briskoda Summer BBQ

OK, is this officially dead now?. Seems like alot of good meet ideas on here fizzle out because of a lack of co-ordination and organisation, anyone going to take the bull by the horns?.

Let me see what I can put together on my suggestion for a meet in Bury, North Manchester. I was waiting to see if anyone came up with anything more central, but it doesn't look like it.
I'm off to the GP at Silverstone tomorrow, but will get on the case when I get back.

Re: Briskoda Summer BBQ

Hi Mate
Yes I am the same.
So much stuff to sort out on my day off.
But I have been to a couple of bike meets where they have camped , so I will see my mate who organised them and see if I can get any joy.
Hope all goes well for you Rob

Not yet mate, I'm working 5:30am to 6pm at the moment and campsites don't seem to answer phones in the evening.

I'll keep trying and have a go today.

Anyone is free to attend!

No luck so far in finding a venue but I'm having difficulty moving about since my op so I'm a bit limited in what I can do.
