Calling all Briskodans...........

Briskodans,

I am thinking of arranging a Midland Briskoda meet.

Anyone interested???????

Probably for Sunday May 24th, or another alternative Sunday?

Last time we had 4 whole, real-life founder Briskodans, namely me, John S, Delcac and Manny. Delcac and Manny travelled from Kent and Herts, respectively to be there (that's dedication folks).

I suggest that we meet in the same place....The Malt Shovel near The NEC (Junc 4 M6, A446 + A45 crossroads) Nr Birmingham

We will then head off to a great pub nearby which has a huge car park (we will need it, won't we!!!!) as there will be so many shiny Skodas to squeeze in.

It's open to anyone who has a Skoda or if not, car must be packed full of Briskodans

So...........Who's up for it???????????? :drive1:

Sounds good too. Have to drop swmbo and Q-jr off at Luton airport at 6.20am anyways, so I'll be up early in any case.

Maybe what the forum needs is a calendar ...... hmmmm. ColIN!!! :p

Edited to say - as a start why don't we go with Stuart's copy and paste idea from another thread. I'll start a new thread ....

Edited again to say I've found the calendar now - DOH!! :o I will now shut up and retire to a quiet place. I've left my other post for now.

Hmm. The NEC is only two hours from me. I'm seriously thinking about attending that meet, although it is only two weeks away. Is this going to be a kind of long weekend thing, or one day? If it is, I could probably stay with all my relatives back near Leicester...?

edit: Any day good foe me at the moment. Nice to see some other Fabia's there!

(Hope my sticker arrives by then though) - *nudge nudge, Ian

Sunday 25th May would be OK for me, too - as long as I can persuade SWMBO that I really, really need a day's driving practice

Is it stonebridge? I can't see where those two roads intersect... aargh! I see the A45 crosses the A452, but I can't see the A446 anywhere. Heeeeelp!

edit : found the A446 - Seems to join the A45 on some kind of sliproad style junction. Is that where the Malt Shovel is? Just north of stonebridge?

Right. I think finally I've got it myself, *phew*

Can someone check out the attached file, which is a map of where the A46/A452 intersect. There is a "PH" on the junction which I reckon is the pub. Can someone confirm this, and I'll know where to go. Cheers

SOD IT! These work PCs are not playing by the book. It saved the file as a .dll and it won't let me view it! OK. - route - Junct 4 M6 as mentioned, head south on A452 until you meet the A45 at Stonebridge. "PH" is on the top left corner of junction as seen on map. I'll have to let you guys/gals look yourself on streetmap or multimap.

Somewhere on here?

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...00&coordsys=gb

Edit:
Actually, somewhere near here?
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...ut.x=2&out.y=9

There's mention of the Malt Shovel on:

Yep, it is Stimpy. If you zoom in on Stonebridge. There's a major crossroads - A45 and A452 I think it was. If you approach from the North on the A452, the "PH" is on the right hand side as you approach the A45. I'm assuming, perhaps wrongly, that that is the Malt Shovel.

I'm thinking about going btw - most of the trip for me would be along the A14, which is a fairly-okayish road with a distinct lack of speed cameras :-)

It would be motorway all the way for me. The A30 dual carriageway (basically a motorway with one less lane) starts about 3 miles from me, then its onto the M5 at Exeter, M40/M42 around Brummy-ville, and then the M6 to junction 4. It would be the first time I do a long trip on the new wheels, so it will be interesting to see how the mpg has changed since my little trip to London to pick up the wheels.

I've also decided I'm going - Hope many others are too - That area is very central for most Briskodians I would have thought..?

edit: It may be worth someone starting a new thread in the meets section with the date/area in the title, so people know about it. The title just being "calling all Briskodians" may not entice enough people to look.

2nd edit: I reckon you should do the above, funky, as you started off this thread.

Judging by this quote

'Probably for Sunday May 24th, or another alternative Sunday?'

Im assuming that its Sunday 25th May?

FunkyJutel,

Please, Please, Please can we do this on SUNDAY 25TH MAY 2003 as it seems most are hoping and can make this date.

Will be excellent as Duncan can make the 25th who was one of the intial Vortex Skoda Forum posters that led to the start of Briskoda.
