Good morning,

Any of you planning on going to TOTB2 at Elvington next Sunday?

Should be a nice day out, maybe we could enter some cars next year (assuming we get some with "decent" power)

It is basically a day where the various clubs and BBSs get together with teams of up to 10 cars and have a "shootout". IIRC the disciplines are: 1/4 mile, top speed run and an handling course.

Some nice motors taking part, some with just ludicrous power levels (Skyline with over 1000bhp at the hubs).

From their website:

"

TOTB II will once again return to Elvington Airfield, near York. (click here for map) The main runway will host the head-to-head 1/4 mile drag runs and 1.25 mile top speed trap. Speeds of 200+mph are expected this year! A separate timed handling course will run alongside the main runway. Competitors are expected to run in all 3 disciplines if they want to win the overall "TOTB II Champion". In addition points will be awarded accordingly towards an overall team prize.

The Rules:
All cars will be road legal, taxed, tested and insured, and will run on road legal tyres (DOT or E marked, with legal depth tread). All cars will be scrutineered before the event, and must pass a basic safety and tyre check. Any queries over acceptable tyre compounds should be raised with us beforehand. Documents may be requested in certain cases to verify legality, ie log book, mot certificate, tax disc. Other than that any modification including nitrous will be permitted."

We've got our North East meet on Sunday so I won't be able to go - sounds like there's some trick motas goin' tho' - I just learnt those words from a mates 11 year old whilst having a look round some very nice VW's at the GTI meet at Elvington yesterday....

Even though offered a place by one of the teams entered, I was to late. So I asked about an entry for us for next year (its invite clubs and boards). They were quite keen for a Skoda team D

Next year there will be a minimum qualification standard. I reckon you will need 300+bhp as a minimum.

1. FWD must be able to run sub 14second 1/4 mile
2. 4x4 will be sub 13 1/4 mile
3. Top speed minimum requirement is 160+

If accepted we will be given 5 slots. Any more than 5 cars and we'll have to decide amongst our selves who gets the 5 slots.

Shall I put the board name down as a possible entry next year?

Only 40-ish miles away so, if Briskoda is there, then me 'n' Nutty will be there
