Id just like to add, don't expect to do John O'Groats to Lands end in 16 hrs, stopping at several services. I'd be splitting it personally. I'll only be tagging along from Preston anyway...

It took me 18 hours of driving like a looney to do 1032 miles from Prague to Blackpool last year, thats actual driving time, thats across Europe, not much traffic.

Edit, just noticed overnight has been suggested - much better idea

to get the "official" end to end run you must start at the hotel at JOG and finish at a building at lands end ( or the other way round obviously ) and get a form signed at both ends ,but you must get proof of visiting places in between ,petrol reciepts have an address and a time on them so are perfect to prove where you have been, nothing to do with claiming back the money just a way to verify that we actually did the journey.

As for racing... this isn't a race... it's just a run for charity.

we were not racing either but a scottish police force said that they would treat us as if we were racing if they saw us moving through their patch in convoy ,at no point was i suggesting you were racing or intended to

You are right about driving through the night though... starting in daylight and finishing in daylight would actually be a better idea!

also means you go through the midlands (worst traffic ) between midnight and 2 am (did not affect us as we went through wales

Maybe we had have like 20 official cars running the whole run... and the rest just job in as and when?

Re: Feeler for a Brisky UK Tour

I think it's quite a good idea to end it on the IOW as you can all stay over for the night (not at mine) and have a few bevvies to celebrate before everyone goes their separate ways the next day. It would be far too exhausting to just drive and nought else, live a little

If others agree I'm happy to look at hotels or campsites etc aswell as entertainment for that night.

i would prefer a 5 day run, this way it shows to the police its not a race and we get to see the sights. how about we then make our way back up the other side of the country

Re: Feeler for a Brisky UK Tour

Ah... right Kynastonp I understand now

The reason I've suggested the one day trip is so that at the most... peeps would have to take a single day off work rather than a whole week etc.

Seeing as how personally I can't stand work... I don't mind taking more time off if we did this over a couple of days... but I was aiming for probably doing this over a long weekend.

BTW; If people were interested in doing JOG - Lands End - IOW - Dover - JOG... it'd take about forty hours and be about 2000 miles

I'm still looking at the idea of having two groups - the insane group who'll do the whole trip - and the peeps just wanting to join in the fun and do as much or little as possible... it'd got to be fun afterall

Re: Feeler for a Brisky UK Tour

Sounds interesting, I've always fancied driving from JOG to Lands End, depending on when you organise it for I could be interested in the whole 2000 mile trip. Can't do any more long distance trips now till after February next year.

It's not going to be 'til next year matey... probably after the clocks go forward again so the nights are a little lighter.

Re: Feeler for a Brisky UK Tour

you could have some sort of relay, where filks do a portion of a UK tour that is near them - to go and meet up with someoneelse and then come back, but then the 2nd lot of people go on a wee trip, and so on.

so (for example) people from north west England could come up to Glasgow, people form glasgow would go to edinburgh, people in edinburgh would go and visit North East england, and so on.

not forgetting how long it would take to get to JOG in the first place, and how long it would take to get home from Lands End

and if you're only doing a "part" - it's not much of a meet to show up in a motorway stop for 10 minutes, drive for a few hours, then turn and come back
