I'm sure we could go a couple more laps before spilling the beans....

Y'know I thought Rob would have been much more defensive about this, what only just married and all.......

Tsk...she phoned me to request that I provide her with a substantial portion of hot meat
on my return home. And she didn't seem bothered that I was knackered and smelt of old
slapper and fags.
Still annoyed about the phone call to my landlady though - I've left a hefty deposit and now
she doesn't want to know!

Rob.

Lightbulb Thursdays...

Just moving on from the slapper a moment. Would anyone be interested in putting some adrenaline into another form of wheeled experience, say karting. That would take the pressure of the local roads (and the cars) for a week. Plus it would allow the likes of Rob, myself and anyone else who is less well equipped to take part (that slapper is very fussy abut the equipment that is used)

Lightbulb it will work...

I'm sure they can accomodate all of us... just thought the idea of using someone elses equipment would be fun......though I do see the odd chance of a black flag....

Arrow following on....

From our conversation about enforcement.

Yesterday my best mate got pulled on the M1 in Leicestershire, it was 2pm, he was doing 65mph in his toy car (MX5 - he left the Merc E300 in the garage) and he was breathalysed. My mate, not a shy sort, asked why he had been pulled and was told, "you are driving too well". So now it seems if you behave yourself you stand out from the crowd and get pulled.

Needless to say, since he hadn't had a drink since the weekend there were no problems. But what a reason for being stopped, " you're driving too well"

I think the fuzz are wairy of people driving a little too well, in case they're REALLY having to concentrate hard, such as would be needed after a few bevvies.

Also, no offence, but 65mph in an MX5 probably seemed a little slow to them. I bet if he'd been doing 5 mph over the speed limit, as opposed to 5 mph under, they would not have batted an eyelid! (they'd probably view 65 as something silly like "not making proper progress in traffic")

Either way, it clearly sucks to drive conservatively!

which is why I put the "no offence" disclaimer in... I was going to put in some slanderous hairdresser insults, but the fact he has an E300 tucked away somewhat disuaded me to do that.
