I guess with the good distance we can stretch to a two day run, kicking of from your choice...
I have plenty of routes availible up the west coast of Scotland. A good point about Scotland is that it is very easy to make a circle in the roads with out to much repetition, and there are a number of well maked out starting points. One for discussion sake is starting at the Loch Lomond Shores visitor centre (some nice shops for you know who), you can head north on the A82, you can head up through the mountains to Glencoe where for variation you can turn into Kinlochleven, the only place in Britain where it is possible not to get direct sunlight in winter it is that surrounded by mountains! After this you can head down the A82 again and turn left to go to Oban, where the road is atually the old railway line, and you have to use the old railway bridges to get across the rivers. Once you get to Lochgilphead you head to Inverary and onto the A82 and back down Loch Lomond side where the road heads back into Glasgow or you can go down towards Helensburgh if you don't want to repeat! It has possibilities for making it longer and shorter too. However the Glencoe bit is not to be missed is is simply brilliant! It takes about 4 and a half hours and starts about 20 minutes NW of Glasgow and the M8. For anybody looking at it on a map it's near Balloch

greg2302.

I'm trying to organise a minimeet one evening this week, probably tomorrow or thursday, are you interested ?

I think Livingston or that general area is a good location, or Perhaps Hermiston Gate Retail Park.
Ross is in Edinburgh and I work in Livi anyway so what do you think ?

Colin

hmm really need to either change my name or start signing messages differently (too many Colin's) Arghhh

I may be up for this , as long as its Edinburgh-ish and pretty easy to find. Somewhere like Kinnaird Park or similar would be ideal.

How about 7pm at Hemiston Gate retail park. There is a dixons or curry's at the left of the main car park.

Hi All,

Not sure if the meet has already happened, can you let me know when/where and if its still going ahead. I'm quite busy at work just now but would try to get along if I could.

Cheers
Hugh

Crail on the third of August sounds like a nice wee run. I'm going to a stag night on the second though, so it would depend on the severity of my hangover - I don't really fancy getting busted for still being over the limit the next day !

No Crail is in Fife. Nice roads but quite narrow. If a bus comes round the other way watch out. It's just south of St Andrews Crail Raceway

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the info, that's quite a nice drive going up to St Andrews. Not sure if I can make the date mentioned but if I can, I will.

Cheers

I've heard there can be a few accidents on the road there. Usually Saxo's or Fiestas in a field. That sort of thing

It's a bit like that where I live, I've lost count of the amount of times I've had to swerve out of the way of some 'Max-Powered' Nova or Saxo -driving t##ser thinking he is Vin Diesel or someone like that.

Sorry guys. Stuck in the east midlands on a permanent basis now.
I'm always in Scotland in spirit.
Especially since it'll be cooler up there at the moment.
