Re: Vindis of Woolpit I ordered some parts from Vindis. They came in efficiently enough (3 working days), but when I went to collect them at 12:25 on a Saturday I was told the parts and service department closed at 12:30 and all the staff had gone home. Sales couldn't sell me parts as they couldn't access the computer system. I got back in the car and Radio 4 Confirmed that the time was 12:30 so I popped back in and asked Sales what time they thought it was - 12:35 apparently. So even by their clock I must have been in the showroom at 12:30 the first time round. That's pretty poor, especially seeing as how I'd made a 30 mile round trip to order the part and another 30 mile round trip to collect them. What's especially galling is that I actually offered to pay for the parts up front when I ordered them and then I offered to pay for them again when I called to say I would pop in on Saturday. Next time I'll just get the bits off the Internet as Vindis had to order the parts in anyway and the delivery charge is much the same as a gallon of diesel. I also suspect I'll be using Chequered Flag in future.

Re: Vindis of Woolpit Disappointing level of service. Moved to Suffolk after being down in Dorset. Had changed from my Octvy VRS to Furby through Westover Skoda just before coming up here. When I came to change my front tyres I realised that Westover hadn't included my locking wheelnut adapter. Spoke with Westover who agreed to send me a FOC one if I could find out which one I needed. Visited Vindis who only wanted to sell me a new set as 'the dealer network doesn't keep a record of which alloy key your car will need". I asked how they'd remove my old one if I did this. "Oh we've got a master set". When i suggested that they may be able to pop out to my car and use their master set to help me find out which one I need so Westover could send it to me, i may as well have been asking for the moon on a stick. They were not busy, there wasn't another customer in the dealership. But still they made me feel like it was a massive ask. Eventually and begrudgingly it was done. It only took 2 minutes....I hope this attitude doesn't prove to be 'the norm'.

Re: Vindis of Woolpit Oh Dear. It seems that poor customer focus is the norm at Vindis Woolpit. My service interval had not been reset when i bought my Fabia. I contacted Vindis to see if they could help, they made a massive fuss again. It seems that even the simplest of requests are like asking them to do backflips through fiery hoops. Not only was I told i'd need to book it in but also they'd charge me workshop time to do it. I made sure that they understood I'd bought this from another franchised dealer and I now lived in the area so they'd undoubtedly get future sales and service income from me. But no, tough luck i'd have to pay up. As I was in the colchester area today I popped into Underwoods. WOW!! What a difference! No problem! They just popped out and did it in the car park. They showed me how it was done and it didnt even need to plugged into any diagnostic service units as Vindis had told me!! It was done and I was gone in under 10 minutes. I will not be using Vindis for Servicing or sales in the future. Not the end of the world for a big dealer. If i wanted to have crap service I'd have bought an alfa!
