I've only used them for parts so far (and I've bought plenty of them) and "Claire" the parts person was very helpful & knowledgable. The parts arrived when she said they would and if there was a problem she would always telephone and let you know.

I've got some warranty work to be done soon so I'll update the post once it has been done.

I've had 3 Octavia RS's from them now. The last one was meant to be ready for collection - when I got there - after driving all the way from darkest Norfolk in the middle of the night (to get there before London rush hour) I found that the car wasn't ready, in fact it hadn't even had it's pdi - nothing had been done!

I wasn't impressed but they didn't seem too fussed about me having to wait around for about 3 hours!!

Also, my ex has a Fabia, she took it in for its final under warranty service, asking them to fix the coolant loss problem & dodgy radio. She collected it & still has the same problems!

I noticed in a which report that coolant loss seems to be a known problem - if so why couldn't a garage just put it right?

One of the mysterys of the car dealership world I guess!!!

I must say they gave me a cracking trade in last time, so I guess its all swings & roundabouts - hence my good rating for them.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham

Elmside are my local dealers (only a couple of miles away) -

They have so far carried out one warranty claim (brake master cylinder replacment) and they also fitted my twin chrome exhaust trim to my Octy.

Very friendly service and an excellent standard of work

The only complaint I have is about the sales dept, Ive had four new Skodas now and twice ive been into Elmside to try and buy (keep it local and all that), but for some reason they never phone back They have successfully lost two sales in the last twelve months.

my new Octy is booked in next Friday (warranty claim) for air bag warning light, Ill report back as to how well it goes.

Overall a dealer I would recommend.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham

Well air bag is all fixed now, needed a whole new one original was faulty.

I had to book the car in for a second visit because they dont keep air bags in stock (explosion risk).

Once again a top job from Elmside with a courtesy car thrown in for free (55 plate fabia auto which they never bother to check when you bring it back).

still recommended to all

Next job to be done - parking sensors.

Will update when the work is done.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham

Just bought a new car from Elmside. Very impressed with the sales staff. Nothing was too much trouble, and there were no hard sales techniques such as apparent with other dealers.

I've used Elmside for parts and warranty work - top marks on both accounts.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham.

I bought a used Felicia for my son from this garage, having been impressed with Skoda quality on the basis of my company supplied Superb, easily the match of an equivalent VW or Audi. However, my involvement with Elmside was not a happy experience. There was a total lack of interest on the part of Elmside garage in solving problems, numerous, with the vehicle as soon as they had the purchase money. They may be OK if you purchase a new car but I would not advise anyone to consider buying a secondhand vehicle from this dealer.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham.

Had the parking sensors done and no complaints. Nice tidy job
They gave me a price which they stuck to and completed the job at the time they said.

All in all a good service. Still recommended.

20K Service due early Feb 2007. Will update again.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham.

Don't generally have a problem with the dealer, because the ordering process went well, got plenty of updates on progress from the factory etc. Then it all went pear shaped with one particular salesman. Me, the wife, and kid were kept waiting for over an hour on a hot day to pick the car up, despite having an appointment, it then transpired the garage had put petrol in my new 2.0 TDI which had just 4 miles on the clock!

It promptly died about a mile from the garage, and had to be towed back. I accepted the car after Elmside changed the fuel filter, pump and injectors, and provided an extra year's warrenty. It was dealt with efficiently, but the original error was unforgivable.

So I would advise to check the fuel reciept. If it's not been started then it could be drained without damage...

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham.

I should add both Skoda UK and Elmside's servicing dept were excellent about sorting this.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham.

Latest update - tailgate realigned and back bumper fixed under warrenty (the lip of the tailgate was rubbing on the bumper - there should be a gap to allow water to drain).

Everyone helpful and the work was done quickly. Courtesy car offered. Can't fault them on this transaction.

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham.

Bought my Fabia Estate second hand from them - no problems with car, servicing or warranty repairs. Occasionally tend to get very booked up for servicing & mot. So pleased that the wife bought a brand new Fabia (new shape) for a good price and trade in

Re: Elmside Garage - Beckenham.

Purchased Fabia (Not from Elmside). In the first week I had a cracked rocker cover, electric window needed adjusting, window leak. Went to Elmside based upon reviews given here. They booked me in within 24 house. Fixed all issues with no hassle. Kept me updated. Were polite and efficient. I will return to them for the service next year based upon my good experience. Cannot fault them based upon my experience thus far.
