| I had my Octavia cam belt changed when I bought the car as it was 1000miles overdue. Merrits kindly gave me a "loyalty card" so I could save some money right away. On a further trip, the car was in to have a mystery rattle cured from somewhere under my feet. They had the car for a whole day but said they couldnt find the problem. Obviously their prodding and poking under the car cured it and the noise has never come back (9 months ago). Because they couldnt find the problem there was no charge. My car was cleaned very well on both occasions. They weren't bothered at all by the remap. Overall I have my worries about taking my car there again. Something that cant be said about the 3 Vauxhall dealers who dealt with my previous vehicle |

It all started off great but I have now taken my car in 4 times for various things (including servicing) - each time i have reported a fault with the drivers side window (wind whistle noise at high speed and the 'one-touch' mechanism seems to have a mind of its own) which they still haven't fixed. I just get a little scribble that says 'cannot reproduce fault'. I get the impression they don't think it's very serious so don't care. Also when i took the car in for warranty work twice it came back sparkling clean. When i took it in for servicing it came back filthy. The last service (20k miles) it hand oily handprints on the bonnet and they had actually broken my amplifier mounting in the boot while trying to get at the spare wheel. |

Must say, they don't wash your car for service work, which if they are to move away from the skoda image of old, they must excel in customer service, so should always clean the vehicle. |

Compered to the Vauxhall dealers I've been used to they could not have done anything else to be more helpful. The service guy was polite and efficient both on the phone and in person. They washed my previously filthy car and even leathered it down. The car was ready for collecting at the time stated when dropping it off. They let me collect the courtesy car the night before so I could have a lay in ![]() They also gave me a loyalty card that entitles me to (off the top of my head) 15% off labour and 10% off parts. |

Thought I'd found a bit of rust on the rear tailgate and again, sales staff couldn't have been more helpful, told me to bring it in to have a look. However, service staff seemed very unhelpful when I did go in. Assured me it wasn't rust, but then said they probably wouldn't have done anything if it was, as it was 'usual wear and tear'. Didn't seem to like it when I asked what was usual about rust on a 3yr old car. Nevertheless, on the whole my experience of them has been good so far! Last edited by DGW; 16-10-2005 at 17:31. | Re: Merritts Skoda - Aylesbury It took me 5 telephone calls even to speak to the service reception. I booked a service and noted the date, when I arrived they initially denied any knowledge of the booking! They did the service, which was OK, didn't wash the car (disappointing these days) and quite impressed me by saying they had noticed a problems with the washer jet and would also order some parts for my glovebox door and ring me. Problem is that was 6 weeks ago and I am still waiting for the call. Not impressed, will try somewhere else next time |

| Re: Merritts Skoda - Aylesbury This is only my personal experience and is not meant to reflect the views of everyone on here. I went to buy an £11,000 furby VRs ex demo from Merrits It had a cool plate SKO4 VRS. My Dad has had 2 fabias and a Felicia from Merrits, so advised me to go there. I asked how much it would be - what the deposit was and the usual. However, the sales guy was so rude and uninterested (thinning grey haired old bald guy) that I even questioned another guy there if he was a salesman... My mate has been in there too and agreed that this guy was rude to him too. (we are not *****! - just everyday guys) Miffed, I voted with my feet and walked out. I go to Pilling Skoda, westcroft , milton keynes ![]() ![]() I have to say that Martin - the service guy there is great - I have no problem with their Parts guys - just very disapointed with the sales guy who "served" me. | Re: Merritts Skoda - Aylesbury I agree. Although he did make an interesting offer for my current RS when I went to inquire as to how much an upgrade to the new model would be, he wasn't in the slightest interested in doing any deals or in fact, try to sell something to me. |

| Re: Merritts Skoda - Aylesbury Bought by car from them 5 and 1/2 years ago and was happy with the way I was looked after was good as I remember and the servicing also good and helpful, although again not cleaned on a service but did get cleaned when I had the window motor replaced! I have just ordered a new car in part exchange through them and couldn't be more helpful, even offereing to drive a 14 mile round trip to value my current car as I had only popped in to see what they had on offer and my car at the railway station so I did not have it with me and I wouldn't be able to go back in until after Christmas. Also the prices were due to go up and he was trying his best to get my order in before then. I in the end decided to fetch my car and he was more than happy to wait and stayed back to close the deal after closing time. It turns out the prices had gone up on the Sunday but he had not recieved the email and without hesitation phoned me to say he would be honouring the price he had told me, although I would have queried it if he had tried to add the increase it was nice that he rang me rather than me having to queiry it. Car should be delivered on aprox the 3rd week of Jan (rolling off the production belt next week, would have been quicker if things like Christmas and New year wasn't in between now and then and I hadn't been picky about having an onex and onex interiour!) Only negitive was one of the service guys once insised on speaking to my boyfriend about my car as though I wasn't even there. :-) |
