Have been back a couple of times and have phoned but keep getting excuses. That's the only downer, everything else was absolutley brilliant.
Big thumbs up to Graham Kennett.

I recently purchased a new Superb Elegance from Savilles of Kidderminster. Having dealt with another Skoda West Midlands dealership for the past 4 years I was very pleasantly suprised by the level of professionalism and courtesy shown by Patrick Sword and his team. From the time I first viewed the vehicle to its collection yesterday everything evolved very smoothly. It was also very reassuring to see their existing customers being treated in a very courteous manner. I have no idea how they remember everyones name.
Within 24 miles, my Superb suffered gearbox failure.Savilles very expertly diagnosed the problem and executed repairs immediately.
I shall certainly be using this garage for all my future cars and servicing.

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

Had my car serviced with them on the 13th April 2006 and no problems with them at all, apart from the Grandad mobile they gave me as a courtesy car but i'm not complaining about that really, just joking around. They were happy to fix a couple of problems that had been caused on a previous service by another garage i took my car too as well. Staff were top notch and really friendly.

Will definately be using Savilles again.

Thumbs up Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

I took my 500 mile old 06 VRS into my local dealer and mentioned that I was a little unhappy with the stutter at between 1500 - 1900 rpm (most noticeable in 4th gear at almost bang on 40 mph with a very slight throttle opening) and they initially said that they had heard nothing like this before (.........standard policy to not admit anything up front !!!)

They then looked on what they called "Skoda Desktop" which was like a bulletin board for all dealers and sure enough they was a note saying about the stutter issue on 06 Fabia VRS's and that the proceedure was to download a copy of the map from the diagnostics port and fax it across to Skoda UK Tech Centre.

That was duely completed this morning whilst I waited and drank a cup of coffee and they will be in contact with me again when they get an answer back from the report.

Can't really get better customer service than that

My advice to all 06 Fabia VRS owners is to take your car to a dealer and ask them about the bulletin and insist that they do the download - the more reports they get, the more chance we all get of getting a solution to our stttttuuuuuutttttteeerrrr

Oh........by the way, the dealer was Saville's of Kidderminster - thanks guys

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

My Superb was taken to savilles yesterday for its annual service. This service was courtesy of Skoda UK because of problems I experienced with the transmission on first delivery. As the car had only covered 8000 miles with mainly motorway driving I was helpfully advised by the service manager it was on variable servicing and as no service indicator was present a service was not yet necesary. This first service apparently costs £200.

I did need reassurance the car would be reliable on a trip to Holland on Monday and without hesitation a holiday check was carried out quickly and efficiently. The cost... nothing. What a difference from the £48 i was charged by Autosales last year for the very same check. Savilles have also topped my oil up on several occasions at no charge. I recommend this family run business without hesitation.

Never purchased a car from here, as they are always too expensive, but my wife gets her Fabia serviced here - she knows nothing about cars, but has never been ripped off...

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

HI Folks, just had my second 12 month service at Savilles on my black Fabia vrs, it has only covered 9000 miles so no problems but the staff were excellent, the service good, the coffee very good and the car washed as well. All very effeciently carried out but I thought it just a touch expensive. Stourjohn.

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

They seem to be, but I checked out the others local - Faintree and All Electric in Brum and the prices were very similar - especially when you took into account the cost of getting there!

Skoda is no longer a "cheap" brand and service costs reflect that.

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

Bought a two-year old, 1300 mile (truly!) Octy here at the end of September. Alan Raybould was my ideal of a salesman - no hustling, just kindly patience and efficient responses to my queries. I had to return last week to get one or two small items sorted and the service manager was patience and kindness itself. My wife and I used the courtesy Fabia to spend a morning at Hartlebury Museum (good) and were entirely reassured on our return by a lengthy discussion about what had been found and what done. While we were there I had a helpful chat with Patrick Sword about a Fabia for my daughter.

The feel of this little garage is superb - they have as much time for you as it takes, are comfortably courteous and get the job done.

It is good to know that they are there for us.

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

i hate to go against the general trend here but when i had my car serviced they didn't use OEM parts!?!?!. also when i came round to servicing the car 10k later i did it myself and there is no way they oiled the seal between the oil filter and engine. as even with the correct tools it was a nightmare to get off even with a mechanic helping me! also i had my cam belt change and they didn't stamp my book to confirm this and as i had lost the receipt they refused point blank to stamp it in the book even though they guy i dealt with remembered the car coming in for it to be done! so overall i would not recommend them, the old management and staff from a few years back seemed much better as both my parents bought cars from them previously without any problems. sorry to be negative but this is an honest account of my experiences dealing with them. could it possibly because of the age of my vehicle 2001 Y reg fabia? i don't know, hope this is useful kind regards Ben

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

Depends what parts you are talking about, 2b3, not everything is stamped with Skoda or VW on it - as for taking an oil filter off I've had problems myslf getting them off, even when they've been put on correctly, thats not a sign that its been put on incorrectly.

With regard to the service book stamp - if you knew the date you took it in they should be able to trace the receipt at their end, how long after the event were we talking?

I have to admit that their attitude in this case isn't what I've seen and experienced over the last 6 years of them repairing my car, so wonder if there's a bit more to it than we're being told?

Your perfectly correct they are a pain anyway to get off, however I have changed a lot of filters and this was more so than usually. I am sorry if i seem overly negative about this garage its just frustrating that even though i new the exact date and time they still would not stamp it in my log book. Their excuse was that it was due to them changing to a computerised system. However i understand that it may seem that there is more to it than that but it just seemed madness as the guy who served me remembered me coming in for it to be changed and still wouldn't stamp it? i do agree with you by the way as i said before both my parents have bought cars off them and in the main they have been an effective garage, but from my experiences they were poor. Thanks for your response
kind regards
Ben
PS I went in about 1 month after it was done.

I apologise if you have got the wrong impression about me. Your right about one thing though i do have a 'bee in my bonnet' due to them not stamping my book when they really should have done for such a job. (Please read my comments above) the oil filter that was fitted had Chinese writing on it, and i have been told that it was not a genuine part. Good guess by the way i have a 1.4 16v with aircon .
Kind regards
Ben

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

I tend to find that its best to leave the Service Book on the passenger seat - they usually stamp it then - that applies to every garage I've dealt with! - I still can't understand them not stamping it unless you couldn't prove that you had it done there - ie no reciept - bearing in mind it was only a month after the event I'm sure you would have been able to produce it??

Re: Savilles Garage - Kidderminster

Had my 50,000 mile service last week and the only problem i have is there choice of courtesy cars. Having already had a 1.4 Fabia Saloon in the past, i didn't think it could get any worse, until they gave me a 1.2 Fabia Estate for this last service!! It was quick off the mark and got up to speed well but i felt like i needed a pipe and flat cap to drive it.
I wish i could have had one of the 3 or 4 08 plate new shape Fabia's they had parked out the front.
The only other black mark was me having to chase them to see if my car was done or not but they still offer excellent service and i can't really fault them knowing how busy they can be.
