I took delivery of the car which, when I was ready, they collected on a flatbed, repaired and returned it. They even serviced it!

Having bought a fabia Tdi elegance estate from them for my wife i then bought an Octavia Tdi L & K estate for myself 6 months later. This is because of the excellent way they do business. When it is time to buy my next Skoda i will be back to them again. My local Skoda show rooms are not in the same customer relations league as 'Lightcliffe Skoda' in Halifax

I live in Loughborough (Leicestershire) which is 102 miles away

Had some warrenty work done by them a few weeks ago for a faulty wire.

They had the car a couple of days as it was a matter of spending time fault finding.

Free Octavia TDi estate car thrown for the 2 day my car was in. Fault fixed. Very friendly and incredible service.

I live just up the road from the showroom and I've been in a couple of times to look at Fabia vRS's and they've been nothing but ultra helpful. More than willing to answer my questions, talk to me about the car - its good points (can't remember any bad points!).

For my last car I didn't buy from a specialist dealer (and I regretted it) but I can guarantee that when the time comes in a few months to go and get me a vRS then I'll be putting my money their way...

Yep. Good service received here. Mechanics are keen and the place is buzzing.
Seems like they really like customers here.
Cannot fault.
Thumbs up..

Took car in on Feb 16th due to what appeared to be an oil leak, diagnosed that there was a leak from the Turbo, which would need to be replaced. "we'll order the part and ring you when it arrives"

March 1st - I ring the dealer "Oh yes the we have the part, when do you want to bring the car in" Question is when would they have got around to ringing me, I did ask what date the part arrived but the person was unable to tell me!

Car was bought new from Lightcliffe's Huddersfield Branch at the end of December, and I found their customer support to be A1 but so far I am disppointed with the Halifax branch.

MAPGO

New turbo now fitted - took a full day for garage to fit as apparently there is alot more to strip down on the 4x4, but no complaints as loan car was supplied - so no excuse for taking a day off!!!

Purchased a 54 Plate Octavia II 1.9TDI Classic about 6 weeks ago, and was very happy with the price, deal & trade in value for my old Honda (99 Civic).

Had a few teething problems - coolant leak (replacement radiator) and bonnet release catch (replaced) which have both been rectified under warranty without any quibbles whatsoever.

The radiator leak could only be picked up when driving (30 mins pressure test showed the tiniest of leaks when you were really looking for it).

The sales and service staff have always been fantastic- even with the five year old (child) in tow and the courtesy cars have been Ok (for a 1.4 petrol - boy do you get used to the diesel torque quickly).

Happy to recommend them to anyone (and have done numerous times already) and will go back when looking to upgrade again even though they are not my closest dealers.

Nice to hear.

Thought it was going down the pan last time I had dealings with them.

Must have just been the change over transition.

I live 5 minutes away from them and bought my Octavia vRS from them new in 2004. I've been back for annual services and an issue with the front brakes squealing. They've always been great.

So I'm worried about this transition period you talk about. It's a while since I've been - is it under new ownership or something?

Yeah, Lightcliffe has been taken over. They sold the VW dearlership at Shelf, the dealership in Huddersfield to DM Keith as they lost so much money, and Lightcliffe to a firm from Manchester. They sacked Tim from Hx Skoda and put in the manager who was in the Huddersfield branch. Bearing in mind, this is the manager that lost all the money in Huddersfield, where is leading Lightcliffe Skoda Halifax?

Another for Nigel at Lightcliffe.
( no, we are not having an affair )
The Octavias service light came on yesterday, telling me it was due its 40k service.
I called in, for a price, and it was taken off me there and then, a courtesy car offered, and as a goodwill gesture, was given a 50% discount on the cost of the service.
Is that good or what?

Although they are once again 'in transition' ( details as soon as allowed)
I was quoted over £600 for work needed on my modified fabia, from a well respected 'site sponsor, and was willing to pay it, as they are well respected.
I asked for a quote from Lightcliffe, and paid £100 less for all the work, with the job done straight away, courtesy car, and £50 off a Road Angel as a thank you.
If Nigel goes, in the impending upheaval, I may end up buying a Proton.......
And NO, we are not having an affair ( although I suspect my wife may be...)

never use them again after seeing my car being driven like it was stolen by one of the mechanics. It pulled out of skoda wheels spinning then preceded to overtake several cars very dangerously.. amazing what happens when they dont know you are watching
