Default The European Coordinated Teacher Education Project

Robert Bosch, Škoda Auto and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic signed an agreement on co-operation in implementation of the European Coordinated Teacher Education Project on 13th of December 2005.
- During the next three years, Bosch and Škoda Auto will train 28 tutors from 14 technical colleges within six week-long educational readings. These tutors will later train more teachers in their regions.
- Bosch and Škoda Auto shall bear the expense of securing training expertness, capacity of tutors, methodical materials, and training premises on equal shares.
- The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports granted accreditation to the project, which guarantees giving trained teachers further education.
Representatives of the companies Robert Bosch and Škoda Auto and of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic met on 13th December 2005 in Prague in order to set their hand and seal to their cooperation agreement as part of the European Coordinated Teacher Education Project (hereinafter referred to as the Project).
The purpose of the Project is, above all, to improve qualification of vocational and secondary technical school teachers, that is, to advance their technical know-how with respect to car industry development and diagnostic technologies. This will lead to enhancement of training system efficiency at the specified schools. This will result in a higher level of qualification and in the training graduates asserting themselves more quickly in the branch.
The agreement was signed by Petra Buzková, JUDr., the Ministress of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, Martin Zettl, a representative of the Bosch Group in the Czech Republic, and Pavel Adam, head of Škoda Auto Service.
All participants are aware of the need to effectively support the system of further education of vocational and secondary technical school teachers. Therefore they commit themselves to jointly establish free educational readings focussed on the design and function of motor vehicle systems. The specialized readings will always be organized for two instructors from 14 vocational and secondary technical schools that have been picked up by the respective regional authorities based upon an initiative made by the Czech Association for Motor Trades and Repairs, and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. The training programme will be in line with the present state of car industry and diagnostic technology development to the extent possible. The course participants will be provided with necessary methodical and technical materials, the appropriate technical specifications, etc.
The company Robert Bosch odbytová, s. r. o., is the recipient of accreditation granted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Project co-ordinator while Škoda Auto, a. s., is the general partner.
The second stage of the Project will be contractual stipulations with 14 pilot schools and regions. This will ensure the subsequent training of more teachers whose specialization is linked to the automotive industry.
The selected teachers shall comply with the following criteria: long-term prospects, attachment to work electronics and new systems used on automobiles, and interest in self-education.
