| Re: Roomster launched I want one NOW!!! I love my Falicia but the Roomster looks great fun! I need a estate and the Roomster is everything that driving is all about. (Pratical, fun, stylish and effordable) the only groan i have with the Roomster is the doors....the windows look so out of place compare to the side ones and ruins the look. Be intresting what motormouth Clarkson has to say when he test drives Skodas new baby ![]()

| Re: Roomster launched I very much doubt Clarkson will waste his time with the roomster to be honest, unless it's just a feature to take the pi** out of how ugly it is!! I dont believe he's ever said alot about many Skoda's? The roomster is just so rancidly ugly, poorly made, and poorly designed, with a cheap flimsy interior I dont see how it'll ever be a success, especially as the salesmen see it as a joke too! |

| Briskodian | Re: Roomster launched Well, I was looking for an Mini MPV and saw this funny looking thing. Ive had my Octavia SDI for over 2 years & been so impressed that I wanted to stick with Skoda Ive had the brochure for ages and a pic or two around my pc & eventually got around to test driving the thing It looks alot better in real life although it is a strange looking thing at first Compared to my octavia there is alot more leg room and quite abit more head room without being too close to the windscreen. There is more room in the back too and I liked the fact I could remove some of the unused seats in the back - quickly or just fold em up - great fot holidays The boot is a different shape but has about the same room Everything seemed to be laid out nicely and it drove very well. Similar to my O andgetting used to it was great I tried the 1.4 tdi 80bhp for starters thinking I would need the 1.9 but it had loads of kick in it and seems a little more powerful than my sdi so I didnt bother with the 1.9. I did have some doubts before test driving it that it was just a Fabia MPV but it seems more than big enough, better for me than the Octavia space wise and also for tyhe family. I did spend some thime thinking about it and even test drove a Hyundai Matrix for the hell of it. the Matrix was nice to drive but not as good as the Roomster although the engine had a bit more power. I didnt like the back seats - very solid & square & uncomfortable. The boot was much smaller & alot of the extras in the Roomster 2 were not included. Althought the matix was advertised cheaper it wasnt at all when I tried to match the 2 on specs. I really didnt like the Matrix for its looks and the final thing that put me off was the speedo & rev counter were not above the steering wheel but in the middle of the dash board. I went back & drove the Roomster again and cant find really anything to put me off, other than the salesman. Well I managed to get them to match the internet price & saved another £200 by getting my own Gap insurance . The finance I couldnt beat although there are 2 admin fees I couldnt get knocked off which Im not too happy about. however Im quite chuffed to buy my first brand new car and looking forward to picking it up next week. I was quite put off at first by some of the comments on here but thinking about It I cant think of anything else I would buy at the moment. Ill let you know what I think of once Ive had it for a week or two Gibby |

| Re: Roomster launched It is a great vehicule, more funny than the fabia (i had 2 fabia combi ) and the Roomster is more secure than Fabia on the road. (with ESP and dul brakes it is really good !) I changed my fabia combi 2 for the Roomster and i don't regret the choice... more capacity in the rear , 3 really seats in the rear and more space visibility, less vibration. The design and the color are great and the road comportment is really more exciting than a classic fabia. Roomsty has 13 500 kms and no problem for the moment, except one rear caption radar and a problem of motor assembling (a steel plate in the motor bloc which bad fixing)

| Re: Roomster launched They could have put proper door handles on the rear doors, or at least put them where you can find them, they would have made a good taxi if they had done that, where they are now punters would think they have to get in through the front door |

| Re: Roomster launched We use Roomsters for our Driving School, and so far it's been best thing we've done, smooth gear changes and the big windows help learner see more that, last cars we used were Astra's and looking out of back window was like looking out of a letterbox |
