| Following news release from Skoda Auto (t's gonna have a panoramic roof option like the concept!): The Roomster Model’s Premiere Is Just One Week Away The new Škoda Roomster model will make its first public appearance in a week's time. The fourth Škoda model family will make its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show. The Škoda Auto display in Hall 2 covers a total area of 1,155 square metres in Geneva. The area intended for introduction of the new Škoda Roomster model range, 723 square metres, as well as the number of exhibits, altogether six Roomster cars, each at a different level of equipment, corresponds with its significance. The Roomster made its first appearance as a design study at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt (IAA - Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) in 2003. A very favourable response of both the expert and general public has confirmed that Škoda Auto has the potential and ideas to come forward with unconventional solutions that are viable. The Škoda Roomster offers excellent spaciousness while maintaining compact outside dimensions. Its unique, highly variable VarioFlex rear seat system makes it possible to conceive the interior as a four-seater or a five-seater. A raised position of the rear passenger seat and large glasses in the rear doors combined with a panoramic roof enable the crew an exceptional outward visibility and evoke a feeling of a large space. Even the base versions of the Roomster model are equipped with four airbags and five three-point retractor seat belt systems; turning projector halogen headlights ad fog headlamp with the “Corner” function are offered for the first time in this category. A diesel particulate filter (DPF) will be on offer as soon as the sales start. The Škoda Roomster will be put on the primary European markets in the summer of 2006. Apart from the Roomster model, Škoda Auto is going to introduce its existing model ranges, the Fabia, Octavia, and Superb, in Geneva. The standard equipment of the Škoda Fabia includes a driver airbag, three-point retractor seat belts, and headrests for all passenger seats. The vehicle security has been reinforced by installation of a new-generation immobilizer system. Moreover, four new exterior varnish colours will be offered. In addition, the existing 1.4 l 16V/55 kW petrol engine will be replaced with a more powerful 1.4 l 16V/59 kW power plant for the Fabia Sedan and Fabia Estate versions from next June. This engine will also drive the Octavia model range. The diesel particulate filter (DPF), working without additives, is now offered for the 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW diesel engine as well. The Octavia, too, will offer new varnish colours and a widened range of items of extra equipment. Introduction of new turbodiesel engines for the Škoda Superb model in early 2006 will be followed by some changes in the items of interior equipment. The Highland green and the Storm blue are new exterior colours for the Superb model. |
