| 1964 Austin Mini 850, carefully restored with cooper s wheels Up for sale is a rare 1964 Austin Mini. These mini's are getting very difficult to find, especially in this condition. The car has been fully restored to its original condition, has new subframes, all new brakes, new bushes etc BUT all are original spec not later mini parts. The underside of the car has been finished in black stoneguard and the car has a new exhaust. Running Gear:The engine is the original 850cc engine and is standard except for the dynamo being changed for an alternator. A new starter has been fitted. The car has a new 4 speed gold seal gearbox and still has the original 'Magic Wand' gearshift. The car has the original drum brakes all round and has the proper single leading shoes fitted to the front. The cas is fitted with the better dry suspension setup. Exterior/Styling: Fully Reconditioned original shell, new panels where necessary. Panels spot welded back to original specification. Finished in red with a black roof. Additional period group 2 arches have been fitted and finished in black to compliment the roof. The car has also recently been fitted with a new dry suspension. A set of 5 Refurbished Cooper S reverse rims and tyres have been fitted, finished in period Old English White. The car has all the original over riders fitted on the bumpers. Sliding front windows and opening rear quarters. Interior/Comfort: The interior is completely standard, no additional clocks or dials. Original floor start and dip switch. Fitted with the early magic wand style gear shift. The car has just had a new black Newton Commercial Mk1 mini carpet set fitted with all sound insulation etc. The original red seats have been retained and are not ripped or saggy. A new boot carpet is also fitted and the car has a new matching tool roll. Other Features: 12 Months MOT, Tax exempt. As you can see, this car has been restored to the highest standard. It has only been used for local car shows and so has done very few miles since finished. Unfortunately the car has a scratch on the drivers door, but it will not show in a photo very well. Other than this, you will struggle to find another Mini in this condition. See:Mini : 1964 Austin Mini Mk1 Restored with Cooper S Wheels for more photos. Best offer around £3500 secures, as space required Thanks Alex |

| Re: 1964 Austin Mini 850, carefully restored with cooper s wheels ![]() I only wish I could spare the money, then I would book the ferry tickets on the spot (and asking for SWMBO's permission afterwards). But alas... sure it'll find a good home, though ![]()

| Re: 1964 Austin Mini 850, carefully restored with cooper s wheels Dry suspension is basically a lump of rubber working with a normal shock, rather than the hydrolastic setup that came around a bit later. Very straightforward, and without the risk of leaks. Gorgeous little motor there, btw - hope it gets a worthy owner ![]() |
