2002 Octavia 4x4 1.8 turbo - SOLD

NOW SOLD

I bought this car from it's first owner 2 years ago, standard apart from the remap. I fitted lowering springs to improve the handling along with an uprated rear arb. I have fitted a boost gauge in the a pillar trims along with an oil temperature gauge so that I know when the car has warmed up enough to use the full performance and not damage anything.

The car is in great condition as you can see from the photos although as with any car with 58k miles on there are regrettably a few stone chips. 2 of the VRS wheels are quite kerbed, but I have available the original wheels that you could sit the car on if you wanted to have them refurbished.
I still have the original springs, rollbar and airbox if you would like them, but as with the wheels they are kept in Derbyshire, I am more than happy to pop up over a weekend to collect them for you. (I have no storage space for them in Woking)

Spec is as follows:

1.8 Turbo 4x4 elegance
58,000 miles
Full service history

Usual Elegance standard trim, including:
Climate Control, ABS, ETC, CD changer in the boot, remote central locking, on board computer for trip stats, electric windows

H&R lowering springs
Uprated rear anti rollbar
Jabbasport remap to 220bhp
17" wheels from the VRS (original 16" wheels also available)
Green induction kit with stainless pipe
Nokia Handsfree kit
Bespoke A Pillar trims with moulded speaker in passenger side, drivers side has boost gauge, oil temperature gauge and speaker.

When I first put the springs on it was a little bouncy but I bought VRS front dampers and new rears and it sorted it, similar to stock now!

the 4x4 has twin fuel tanks, fully independant rear suspension, rear ARB as standard, room for the prop and mounts for the tunnel. other than that not a lot

Re: 2002 Octavia 4x4 1.8 turbo

I bought a discovery on a whim and am enjoying it so much the Skoda never seems to get used anymore. In my current job I spend so much time in very fast cars (customer care for the McLaren F1) that I enjoy trundling home in the discovery!

Re: 2002 Octavia 4x4 1.8 turbo

Looks very neat for the price I have to say!
Two oh-so-boring pragmatic questions, coming from someone with a diesel Octavia (although not quite the standard engine any more ) ....

What sort of fuel consumption are you getting?
Assuming you've 'come clean' with your insurance company (no, I don't work for the thought police!) what are you paying for insurance - those mods must be just the sort of thing to blanch your average insurance Johnnie?

I have to say I'm seriously tempted to drop over to Woking in the immediate future to have a quick shuftie, despite your mention of the Maclaren link ... used to work for Ford trying to get some marketing clout of our F1 input back in the Benetton days, so hate hate hate!

I have to say I'm seriously tempted to drop over to Woking in the immediate future to have a quick shuftie,
Fuel wise I consider it good for a modified car, I get about 32/3 on the motorway cruising at about 85 leptons, about 28 on my commute into work which includes a bit of queing!
Insurance, I have a good relationship with my insurance company as I have had a number of different cars insured with them in the past, have 7 years no claims and a good postcode so pay about £450 for it (I am 25)

Feel free to pop over and have a look!

To anyone else, I am planning on going to Abingdon in Oxfordshire this weekend if it helps anyone with viewing.
