| Briskodian | Octavia Laurin & Klement PD130 hatch 2003 53 Black - NO LONGER FOR SALE I may be upgrading very soon so this one is tentatively up for sale. I've been pleased with this one so a mkII is on the cards.
Many of you already know the L&K spec (highlights are Xenons, Climate, Cruise, Heated leather, Sunroof, etc). I don't believe there were any options fitted, that's because the list was short. The only upgrades over the normal spec are Golf mkIV aero wipers (blades changed this month), though I would put the old arms back on if the buyer really doesn't like the aeros. It has a Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth kit fitted at present, which I plan to transfer to my new car (no marks/holes will be left) but can be left in for extra cost. The condition is excellent, everything works as it should and it runs fine. The only spending on the car above the upgrades has been the servicing and tyres, plus a new aerial after the original was pinched and new number plates because the originals delaminated. It needs a new rear wiper blade as per the Octavia I thread, I should hopefully have it replaced next week. The leather doesn't show 81k's use. There are a couple of slits on the rear of one of the rear head restraints (so only visible from the boot). The chrome on top of the gearknob has a scratch from the ring of the past owner. The exterior has a few minor marks: a dent on the rear o/s door where the rubbing strip is, a scratch on the drivers mirror, some blemishes on the n/s C pillar due to bird droppings and a few other assorted minor marks. I do my best to avoid marks by parking at the back of car parks and have always washed it by hand since I bought it. The car racked up a huge mileage in the first two years as a regional manager's car, trekking up and down the motorways. I bought it directly from the company but have done a very low mileage myself. I have another car to use and neither get used for commuting. Apologies for the poor pictures – I'll try some better ones when it's not raining. If interested, please PM or call me on (now removed). ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by James_H; 08-06-2008 at 17:23. Reason: Removed phone no |

| Re: Octavia Laurin & Klement PD130 hatch 2003 53 Black Think long & hard before you sell it IMO the Mk1 L&K was the best octy ever, ours is around 130,000 miles & still going strong, is the extra you are spending worth it, also the newer Octys will never give as good mpg. If it was an estate I would be buying it off of you

| Briskodian | Re: Octavia Laurin & Klement PD130 hatch 2003 53 Black I should have posted this a week ago but I have now decided to keep it! I had seen an 11 month old vRS advertised on eBay and Auto Trader. The buyer just didn't get any genuine interest and would have let it go for just £12k, including the three years servicing, as it was more than his trade-in offer. It was a very good spec (Xenons, Maxidot, climate/jumbo, Light assist, 18s) but the negatives were: - it was red (I was 90% convinced it would be ok though) - I really didn't know how the fuel situation would go, not that I use much, but was worried about residuals. If a year old car is already 2/3rd of the new price, how much further down could it go. I sometimes think I should have gone for it because it did seem such a good deal, but there isn't anything wrong with the Octavia I already had and if it was so good, how come the seller could not sell. I may decide to go for a MkII if another good deal comes along. James |

| Briskodian | Re: Octavia Laurin & Klement PD130 hatch 2003 53 Black I have the same car/year/mileage as you James - I too was planning to sell with a new MOT next month but now decided to keep it - OK the handling isn't sporty but it's hard to find anything to replace it that has the same MPG/Performance/Cheap Road tax combination and it's too old to worry about massive depreciation. Just hope nothing goes wrong now! |
