Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

I'll see if I can come up with a route this evening that includes sandbanks too.

Studland would have been impressive but do we want to chance the chain ferry then wareham on the way back?

Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

I remember going on a small ferry down that way to play golf on some peninsular/island but for the life of me I cant remember what it's called!

Edit: Just remembered, Isle of Purbeck, great little roads round there and surely a decent pub or two!

Aye, that's Studland and the Chain Ferry. I'll try and get it in then and yes there are some stunning pubs.

Taxi, do you know the square and compass?

Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

So the question is light breakfast then on to b'mouth then over on the ferry for a meal at a pub or lunch in b'mouth?

I'd like to get a meal in such that Paul will be able to eat before he has to go at 1 should he so desire. This leans towards doing something on the b'mouth/sandbanks area so that he doesn't have to get the ferry should he not want to.

Any preferences?

Yeah we can keep B,mth/Sandbanks side if that is the case no problem taking a bit of breakfast before start is ok.

Thumbs up Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

Oh, this is only like a couple of miles down the road from me so I might come along - don't know what I'm up to that weekend yet though! And I haven't been to a social thing on here before so I wouldn't know anyone!

We were all 'newbies' once and it is a bit daunting the first time you go to one of these meets but it's a great way to meet new people and you should enjoy it, most do

Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

I may have tempted Mrs B and the two smalls to join in on this one, depends if I get broken playing rugby the day before...

Actually, the two smalls are too young to voice an opinion, so they get told where they are going...

Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

Something like this me thinks?

Taxi219 what do you think?

Effectively it's:

1) HH (Park up and all meet up, breakfast if wanted.)
2) WinterGardens (Via the coast roads and then Park Up) - Have a walk in the gardens and see the eye.
3) Down to sandbanks and take the ferry over
4) Studland (stop at the beach)
5) Swanage Railway
6) Corfe Castle

Back via Wareham, Upton, Hurn Airport and then towards:

7) Avon Causeway Public House (Stop)
8) Sopley
9) Bransgore
10) Exit by Cat and fiddle Public House
11) Take the forest roads to Lyndhurst.

Depart from Lyndhurst and go home.

Cool Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

That's cool, as it would wind up heading in my home direction.

p.s., have they removed the remnants of a bentley and three police cars from Bransgore yet?

Not a problem. There is a good chance I'm not to make it there, but it's a route I've often used to show people the area and lets them see a large amount in a small amount of time. It's just a shame there was the fire at the woolpack in sopley or that would have been great for food.

Make it a stop off, sure you'll see the tree.

Cool, I've got one of those trees in Kent, although I wasnt driving at the time, more of a garden hedge on a slope really...

Re: Bournemouth Meet Sunday 27th April 10am

I've PM's a mod asking them to put it up on the calender, so fingers crossed.

Would be nice to get a few people along as some of the places and views along that route are spectacular, not to mention some of the roads on the studland side
